So I bought this anime called Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok about two months ago on a total whim. I think it was when I was home for my birthday, end of October. Well, I finally got to sit down and watch it. Watched the first two episodes once by myself, then again last night with
msbbt and
bishonen_girl, and then we watched the other two episodes on the disc.
All three of us are officially hooked. It's a really weird show, and the first time I watched the first two eps, I wasn't totally convinced, but each episode kinda pulled me in a little bit more than the last. And then the fourth episode...that was it, I was gone, sold, hooked!! So I think I'm going to go pick up the second volume tomorrow and see what happens. It kind of helps to have some knowledge of Norse mythology before you watch it.
Loki is the Norse god of mischief. I'd heard a couple of stories about him before, in my random readings. Later on, they mention a certain weapon's name (which I can't spell), and I hooked that up with the appropriate god pretty quickly. It's interesting. And get this--it's got a kaitou in it! Anything with a kaitou must be awesome! Right? Right. That's why I'm checking out DNAngel and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne as well. Really got into the first volume of Bleach as well. Yay for Christmas.
For anyone who's interested, Yamino totally rules. End of discussion.
Here's a funny story: I was out shopping with Kat, and I spotted a manga I knew she would absolutely love, the first volume of Midori Days. There was only one copy, so I picked it up. Then she kind of sighed because she said she'd been thinking she would get that for me. So I played it cool, walked up to the register, and bought it. The look on her face when she opened it yesterday was DEE-LIGHT-FUL!!!!
'bout all I got for the moment. Looks like there will be party-age on New Year's, yay rah fun!! Catch y'all later!
Much love,
