If you don't watchprofessorlayton, I made a post yesterday about something nerdy FUN that kaitodoushi and I did a couple days ago and could not stop giggling over. Because we are big, hungry nerds. Tasty fangirling is tasty! We also played more Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Not really a hard game, but it's very charming!
Yesterday was exciting at work because they caught a shoplifter! Someone had been stealing booze from the liquor department (which is, amusingly enough, right next to the pharmacy), and the missing merchandise had totaled well over five hundred dollars. Well, one of the managers saw a young guy walking out the door with a bottle in his hand and went after him. Asked the guy if he paid for that (guy said yes), asked if he had a receipt (guy said yes), asked to see the receipt (guy admitted he stole it).
It took two guys (the manager and one of the maintenance guys, who saw the manager going out the door and followed to help, just in case) to physically hold the guy and keep him from running. Manager also said that if it had been much worse, in the past he's actually just started calling for help and customers have come over to assist. But yeah, they called the police and the guy was arrested. Wouldn't give his name or an ID, though--said the cops would know him when they got there O_O
On today's List o' Things to Do: drop Mom's check off at the community college for her accounting class. Go to bank. Swing by Deb and Target/Wal-Mart. Top off the gas tank in my car. Get clothes, tickets, and MapQuest ready for tomorrow's adventure, since my time tomorrow will be really limited. Spend a bit of quality time with the ol' word processor today before work.
Tomorrow I work from eight-thirty to five. Thenkaitodoushi and I are hopping in the car and driving to another city for a special movie event. The guys who did Mystery Science Theater are streaming a live show in which they are going to riff on Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space, wildly regarded as the worst movie ever made. I have not seen it, but Kat found out about the event, and so we got our tickets online. This shall be fun!
