Dear self: this is just a friendly reminder that it's semi-bad form to ship a pairing before you have actually watched the show. Shipping something after one episode, however, is totally professional and is to be encouraged! z(^o^)-b

Yes, this means that I have started watching Torchwood. Also, I might have a slight gay-crush on Ianto that might slightly nudge aside my gay-crush on Neil Patrick Harris. Ya know, just saying. Will doubtlessly have more once my computer stops being dumb and permits the second episode to both load...AND PLAY.

So on Thursday, [profile] kaitodoushi and I had an adventure.

She came up to work and grabbed us each a pop, and then right at five I changed in the bathroom and away we went! In spite of everything, we made it to the theater with about twenty minutes to spare. For those of you who are wondering what I mean by everything, remember that there are four seasons in Iowa: winter, more winter, winter's not over yet, and construction.

It was a really well-performed show. I am officially a fan of Jonathon Coulton now, especially after the full audience sing-a-long in which we got to act like zombies. Which is what prompted me to upload this icon, matter of fact.

A couple of times during the show, the stream cut out, and the entire theater (there was a pretty good crowd) all groaned in unison. During the one blip that lasted longer than a second, everyone started yelling things at the black screen. I actually chimed in: "Eek! Help, I'm scared of the dark!"

The movie itself? ...I agree that it was really, really bad, but at the same time...I dunno. If the ultimate goal of a movie is to be entertaining, then technically Plan 9 from Outer Space is a FANTASTIC movie because it is, in fact, very entertaining. Just...not quite in the way I'm sure it was intended to be. But it was constant laughs from start to finish.

Favorite parts included pretty much every scene with the alien's leader ("That guy makes Richard Simmons look BUTCH!") and the infamous line, "You stupid, stupid humans!" When it got to that, one of the riffers opened his mouth to say something, then apparently decided that it needed no help to be utterly hilarious and just let it stand alone.

After the movie, we giggled all the way to Perkin's, where we had dinner, and then we headed home.

All in all? Fantastic show, great time, and great company :D

I have twenty pages left to read in the Dark is Rising sequence. Lay it on me, ending! I also have two drabbles for [community profile] 100fandomhell scrawled out. Need to get those typed up so I can, ya know, post them or something crazy like that.

I'm calling GameStop on Monday to see when/if Layton can be picked up on Tuesday because I'd really like to get my hands on it before work, since GS is closed by the time I get off work. And then I shall be shunning all human interactions for a time as I glue myself to my DS. I hope none of you take offense at this because I do love and adore you all and give you smooches ♥
