candylandOLYMPICS GET! \o/
Once every two years, I really watch sports (unless you count wandering in and out during the Superbowl or tuning in whenever something really important is about to happen), and those sports are the Olympic competitions. I love 'em. Especially because I tend to find myself watching sports that I've never watched before, and enjoying them.
Last Summer Games in Beijing? I actually started cheering out loud during a water polo match. A sport I know absolutely nothing about. In my basement. DON'T JUDGE ME, IT WAS A VERY EXCITING MATCH.
But yes, watched the opening ceremony with my mom. It was all absolutely beautiful to watch, I adored the tap dancing and fiddling (two of my personal weakness *o*), free-style poetry, the lights, the music (they sang "Hallelujah" gaaaaah I love that song so much ♥♥♥)...I've always enjoyed the opening ceremony. 'Tis a shame that the fourth leg of the indoor torch didn't work right D:
(Also, we called the final flame-bearer. Who else but the Great One?)
So yes, let the games begin! *readies the DVR*
...totally random and unrelated, but I woke up this morning to find that one of the lights on the minute side of my digital clock has burned out. It's a bit jarring when you're attempting to wake up to look at your clock and see 7:43...and glance at your cell phone and have it say 7:49. So yesh, guess I'm stopping at Target on the way home and getting a new alarm clock.
