Sorry 'bout last night, people I was chatting with. I went from sitting at my computer desk to doing that "Oh crap, so tired can't stay awake must pass out..." thing around ten-thirty...to waking up this morning at a quarter past seven. And I'm still tired!

For the record, there might be a little TMI in this post regarding certain female things, though I'm scrimping on most of the details. But as many of you may or may not know, I have almost no shame.

L'anyhoodle, went to doctor's office yesterday morning. My appointment was at nine AM - got there early, did the paperwork, went through the usual height/weight/do personal business into a cup deal. We did the Q&A routine, and my answer to everything was no. No existing health conditions, not taking any medications, nothing whatsoever. My doctor even told me that I was making things too easy on him.

And then I got my first, err, lady exam. Which was not the most comfortable thing I've ever done. Seriously - he's explaining it to me, and shows me the speculum, which is probably three inches wide, and I'm going, "If that is supposed to go where I think he thinks it's supposed to go? It ain't happening." And it didn't - had to get a small, which was a great relief. And the nurse who came in kept telling me jokes, too, which helped. She was nice.

All in all, though? It wasn't so bad. Not that I'm in any hurry to do it again. At least he did say that since I'm not sexually active, I really don't need to do another one for quite a while. For this, I am incredibly grateful.

He asked if I had any other questions, and I said I've been having some symptoms. I got as far as "I'm tired all the time, to the point where I'll fall asleep in the middle of things" and "my hair is coming out in my hands when I wash it." And he cut me off and said, "We need to check your thyroid." He also said they'd check iron levels, blood sugar, and cholesterol while they were at it.

The nurse who'd been in there during my exam was the one who walked me over to the lab area, where they draw blood. She complemented me on staying calm during my exam, especially since it was my first one - said she's seen some ladies stay not-so-calm during that. When I said it wasn't so bad, she laughed and whispered, "I'll tell you a secret. It never really gets much better."

I like her.

I hate getting blood drawn, but the nurse who did it was really good. I barely felt the needle, and I even told her that. She seemed pleased \o/ So they're sending them off for tests, and if there's anything unusual, I'll get a phone call sometime this week. Some of the tests can be done in the clinic, but others (including the thyroid test) are done at an outside lab, so it'll be a couple of days.

But yeah, other than my weight (which he didn't actually mention, but it's sort of a given, I think), I have a perfect bill of health, barring any unusual lab results. I guess I knew I was pretty healthy, but it's nice to have professional confirmation about it! So if I can finish getting the weight off, I'll be in perfect shape \o/

Work was...work, I guess.

Yesterday was Mom's birthday, so we went out for dinner to Carlos o' Kelly's. Mexican's not my favorite, but we always liked this place. When I was younger it would kind of be a treat - we'd go to a movie at the cheap theater out on the far side of town, and then go there for dinner. One opened up just down the street from our house, so we thought we'd check it out. Not as good as I remember, but the margarita was delicious!

Then I came home and got online to chat with people...and was out cold before ten-thirty. Full night's sleep? What's that?

Okay, today I think I need to clean, and maybe try to finish one of my six WIP things because gaaaaaah I want to post something like you would not believe. Insert flailing of limbs here plz.
