I spent a weekend at home for the first time in three months, and I feel a gazillion times better for it.

This past Saturday, October 30th, I turned nineteen years old. And it truthfully didn't even register until I woke up on Saturday morning, looked at the clock, and then realized, "Holy hell, I'm a year older." As opposed to last year, when I was counting down the days on the handle of my MSN Messenger. But I guess eighteen is a little bit bigger deal than nineteen...maybe. But that's the reason I went home. I just wanted...no, needed to get off campus for a while. I was going crazy.

My parents took me out for dinner to the HuHot for my birthday. Mongolian grill...delicious! I heart that place. Then we had cake and I got a few gifts--a photo album, a really nice bracelet, a music encyclopedia (God bless my sister, she has great taste in gifts!), and the movie Miracle on DVD. I heart that movie. Hung out at home, didn't do much, if anything, productive. I did not think about anyone or anything related to campus all weekend. I hope nobody there is offended. I also got to take a nice, two-hour nap on my birthday. THAT, my friends, is a great gift! Then my sister woke me up for no adequate reason...I wanted to do something unkind to her, but I was so comfy on the couch...

I also chopped my hair off on Saturday morning. For quite some time, I've worn my hair at a pretty decent length--past my shoulders. It's boring hair, really--it's blaaaah brown in color, and stick straight, except for the ends, where it also frizzes no matter what I do. Well, I chopped it. Cut probably six inches off, and layered it. It's now a stylish chin-length bob, and I like it. I like it lots! It's a lot easier to handle, and my head feels a ton lighter.

But this morning (Monday) was a lesson in why I shouldn't sleep on my new do when it's wet. I woke up looking like I was a victim of electro-shock therapy, and with only half an hour to get dressed and tame the mane before class. It's amazing what one can do with a simple curling iron. I got it under control and still made it to class on time.

My day's been going pretty well, 'cept for the period between seven and eight this evening. Computer Application tests make Candy-chan cry. It was brutal. I walked back with another RA from my building, and she and I were both having the same reaction--THAT SUCKED ON MULTIPLE LEVELS!!!!

So now I'm taking a break from cleaning the room. I've been kinda letting it slip a little, and I have no homework due tomorrow, so I'm getting my room put back into order. Except my desk. No matter what I do, it's cluttered, and it's not like I ever actually sit at it to study, so I've decided it's okay if the desk is a 'lost cause.' When I do work or whatnot, I usually prefer to plop down on the floor, or I'll sprawl out on my bed. It's infinitely more comfortable, and there's more space on the floor.

Life is good, folks. Life is good.

Peace,
Candy-chan ^_^

PS. I've voted, absentee--have you? If not, DO IT!!!
