And so it goes, and so it goes.

Thursdays are usually my relaxed days. So when I took a step back and stared at what I've got going on tomorrow, I just went, "Whoa..."

Piano lesson at nine-thirty, then scamper on over to my Observation from eleven to noon-thirty (yes, I said noon-thirty), which is in a town about ten minutes away. Then sprint back for my 1:1 with my supervisor at one, then mad-dash down to the Forum for this presentation that I have to go to for one of my classes. That runs from one-thirty till about four-thirty-ish (usually, I would have a class from 1:30-2:30, and then choir from three to three-fifty). If it runs past four, I have to leave early, 'cause band rehearsal starts at four, and it's concert week, so if I am late, Jerry will do many unkind things. He tends to get very tempermental (and also very frazzled) during the week before a concert. But anyway, that goes until five-thirty-ish, and then dinner. If somebody's got the RA interview time at six, I go do that, then back to the dorm, where the full staff has a community builder scheduled from eight to ten. Then homework, and since our R.D.'s birthday is Friday, we're all meeting at midnight to surprise her by decorating her apartment door (veeeeeeeeeery quietly *grin*).

Friday, thankfully, will be a little more quiet, I believe. Class from ten to one. Whee! Oh yeah, and band rehearsal from four to five-thirty, in honor of the upcoming concert.

Since I've mentioned the topic, let me just say that I love our band music. I really do. Even Tancredi. We're playing two pieces with a guest soloist, who's a marimba player (it's like a xylophone, for those not in the know). "The Golden Age of Xylophone" is fast and hyper and sounds like a circus medley to me, but it's fun to play. The other is "The Life of King David," and features a really bizarre soundtrack of some guy singing; we have had many a laugh over that soundtrack. The second movement, "Giant Slayer," kicks ass. We get to be the giant's footsteps. It is awesome.

My favorite is this one piece we're playing, called "Sorcery Suite." When we first got it, I was flipping through it, I looked at the titles of the five movements: "A Boy and His Castle," "The Bumbling Gamekeeper," "The Greatest of Wizards," "Professor of Potions (with Ill-Tempered Notions)," and "Imagine a Game Played in Mid-Air!" I turned to Kelsey and said, "It's Harry Potter!" Well, I was right--the composer wrote his version of themes for the Harry Potter characters (not related to the movie). Harry, Hagrid, Dumbledore, Snape, and Quidditch. The Hagrid movement (number II) is my favorite, just 'cause it sounds so neat! But Movement IV is a huge euphonium feature. We worked hard on it, and now it sounds good (as opposed to before, where Kelsey and I would simply stare blankly at the music with thoughts along the lines of OHSHITWHATDOWEDOHELP!!!!)

The concert's Sunday, yay fun. Wonder if we'll get Monday off...nah, probably not. That would be breaking character for Jerry. Or he might, considering we're going four days this week...meh, who knows?

But now it is time for chamber choir, so I bid you all adieu until later. Bai bai!
