I want a floor puppy!
Oct. 17th, 2005 04:22 pmI've been posting in here a lot more lately. Guess I've just had more to talk about since I came on back to school and dove back into my wireless internet, my messengers (which which I talk to various friends almost daily, inspiring all sorts of bizarre thoughts and fanfics and such), my RA job (which anyone who has paid attention already knows), my schoolwork (no comment...), and whatever else decides to throw itself my way.
A couple of nights was an example of "odd conversation." I was dinking around on ff.net, and found this really cool little fanfiction, called Sense and Sensitivity written by the incomparable Kosagi no Legion. Well, I got to thinking about it and discussing it with some friends. Now, I've always wanted a floor puppy for my dorm, but they won't allow any pets except for fish...well, here's what happened when
msbbt and I started talking about it...
Candyland--I have the appetite of...some really large animals that eat a lot of food says:
oh yeah--i think i figured out how my dorm can have a floor puppy!
Krrrrrrrrrrrazy Kat: I hope they have those corn chips in heaven... says:
lol, yay! Really? How?
Candyland--I have the appetite of...some really large animals that eat a lot of food says:
we'll get a Grim! ya know, a big, black, ghost-dog without a head that only some people can see!
Krrrrrrrrrrrazy Kat: I hope they have those corn chips in heaven... says:
rofl, nice
Candyland--I have the appetite of...some really large animals that eat a lot of food says:
it's the perfect pet! don't need to bathe it, don't need to feed it, and there's no mess to clean up--unless you count the dead bodies. Grims are harbringers of death :)
Krrrrrrrrrrrazy Kat: I hope they have those corn chips in heaven... says:
Perfect for a haunted floor!
Candyland--I have the appetite of...some really large animals that eat a lot of food says:
'xactly!!!
Yes, you read right--"haunted floor". I live on the third floor, south hallway. According to rampant campus legend, there's a ghost that occupies room 305 in our hall. Her name is Mary Swope (at least, that's what we call her). The most common story reads that her house stood here before the dorm was built, and she ate something (paint chips) or whatever and got lead poisoning, went nuts, and jumped off the roof of her house. And now she haunts the dorm--maybe room 305, the alleged center of the hauntings, is where she last stood on the roof. Pretty quiet ghost, more along the lines of a poltergeist--opens doors, messes with alarm clocks, that sort of thing. Hates country music :-P
But anyway, yeah, we're going to have a Grim for a floor puppy--a black, headless ghost-dog that brings tidings of death. I will name it Spot, and make a bed for it in the lounge. There will be no need to feed it or bathe it or take it for walks, and I won't have to clean up after it!!! ...unless you count the dead bodies :) Those could be a problem.
Midterms continue. Fall break is almost upon us. I'm on duty for fall break. I get to babysit the building for about six days. Whoooo, yay for me. S'okay, though--I got some stuff to do, and then I get to go home next weekend. SQUEE!!! My first weekend at home of the year!!!
