Heard this weekend:

Q: What do you call a cow with a twitch?
A: Beef jerky!

*is shot*

Well, this weekend marked the end of a "legacy." My sister competed in the last show choir competition of her high school career. And after trailing after both of us to these competitions for the last seven years, Mom and Dad are finally done with all these road-trips. And Dad is thrilled.

She cried after it was over, as did many, I think. This is not uncommon. After they performed in finals, I went to find a restroom, and spotted her in the hallway, in tears. Went over to give her a hug, she said she didn't want to get her sparkly red lipstick all over my white jacket. So I took my jacket off and glomped her.

She's actually a bit tougher than I am, though. I asked her later, and she said she cried for forty-five minutes or so. After my last competition senior year, I cried from the time we got off-stage to the awards, then was smiling and cheering when I was one of those who got to go collect the trophy (we pretty much swept it, getting Grand Champion and all the caption awards, I think), and then proceeded to bawl all the way home. The entire five-hour bus ride ;_;

They had all but clean sweep. The only one they didn't win was Best Band, and that was probably because they weren't eligible (due to the number of adults in the group). They made finals and went on first, which is a tough spot. But they performed well. They announced Best Choreography--us. Then they announced Best Vocals--us again (which basically meant it belonged to our group). They also won Best Stage Crew (*CHEERS!!*) Tres happiness ^__^

Love ya, Little Sister! I'm proud of you!!

In other news, tonight was jazz choir choreography. -_-;; I'm planning on finishing my dinner, and passing out until tomorrow morning. Really hope I don't have anything due tomorrow in Conducting...

Oh yeah--new fic swap is up on [livejournal.com profile] manycases1truth. I might have to chase [livejournal.com profile] articulation--possibly with a mop--because I have her challenge request. It might take me a little while to crank out Detective Conan: The Musical, just so everyone knows O_O

Ahh, I can't wait to see what you come up with for that request. Should be...very interesting XD

Those fic-swaps look so fun, I should stop being so shy and join in some week ^^;

Sorry bout that. But if it's any consolation, I think it'll be really awesome and I'm all excited that you got it and take as much time as you want? ..And yes, you may chase me with a mop. I deserve it. :O

Nah, it's not a problem, just might take me a bit to write the songs for it, is all. I've already got Ran's parody written >:D And I know what Gin and Heiji are doing. Just gotta fill in the rest of it... ^___^

*chases with mop, just for fun* =P

Heh, I was the end of my family's 12 year run at East! Although I was a rebel and quit show choir, but still. They finally won Best Stage Crew?! *does happy dances* Yay for them! Since, from what I've heard, this may be their last good year in a looong time... I think it's funny that you were in Sioux Falls and I wasn't.

That is kinda weird...me being there, you not being there... O_O

Yuppers, they got a Best Stage Crew trophy! I wonder if it's nicer than the one we made for them my senior year out of paper towel tubes and duct tape. That was a beautiful trophy. But it's like when my class graduated--they're losing three-fourths of the choir to college. Time to start rebuilding! Have you seen their show this year? I might hafta show you a vid, if only so you can see my lovely sister in the front row, and the guys number :D

Oh yeah, my mom had a brilliant idea--she told Weber that they should really start inviting the bus drivers to the Extravaganza and honor them, because Bill the Bus Driver has been shuttling us around since you and I were in the group, and he's quite attached to the Headliners and New Sound. Brittney said that in Chicago, the two drivers (including Bill) stood up after they'd finished performing, pointed to the stage, and shouted to the rest of the audience, "We drive their bus!" We love the bus drivers ^_^
