Well, it's over. I made my conductorial debut, and it went very well, I think. My mom said that she thought I was scared to death because I wasn't moving a whole lot--and then a spectator came up to me and told me that I had the clearest beat patterns she'd ever seen. People--everyone's a critic =P

My dorm room is now empty, save for...well, a lot of trash ^^;; I don't know where I got all those papers, but there are papers everywhere. Good Lordy, it's a mess. But that's okay, I've got a week to get the rest of it sifted through. Anyway, after the concert and the annual "Hauling of all my crap down three flights of stairs", we went out for a nice Mother's Day dinner. I came back to my room...and I promptly crashed. I know I set my alarm for eight-thirty so I could go to my meeting, and I vaguely remember getting up to turn it off...and then the next time I opened my eyes, it was nine o'clock this morning. My Classroom Management element was due last night. Oops...I sent it in, hope she'll still take it ;_;

Got some nice plans for later this week--after finals, probably on Friday, Kelly and I are planning to just relax. Take pop cans back, get Chinese for lunch, and then crash and watch part of the big Ghost Hunters marathon that was on a couple weeks back. She taped it, and we're gonna watch some of it *is squeeful*

In other news, Janna and I watched Dracula 2000. She's hooked on the movie (mostly because the girl is obsessed with Gerard Butler). I was...well, slightly less than impressed. Oh well. But anyway, while we were watching it, she sent me links to some Phantom of the Opera fanart on DA. I give you all linkage, because it's hilarious!

Phantom vs. Dracula...vs. Raoul
Phantom vs. Raoul
Phantom vs. Technology

Those are three of my favorites. Check out the artists' other stuff, too. It's wonderful. One of them even had a really funny Conan fanart!

And now, I saw it on [livejournal.com profile] socchan's LJ, and I wasn't technically tagged, but I swiped it anyway =3 So here ya go, just for fun...

Explain your LiveJournal name and its meaning. When you're done, tag as many people as there are letters in your name.

When I was in high school, one of my friends jokingly dubbed me Candy because I had the most insatiable sweet-tooth he'd ever seen. So later on, when I was registering on writing.com and looking for a handle, I remembered my goofy little nickname, and that's who I became online.

At some point, I got kind of bored with Candy. I was trying to think of a new handle when I was commissioned to watch my little cousins. They wanted to play Candyland. And for some reason, I thought that would be an easy way to jazz up the ol' handle without completely obliterating any chance of people knowing who I was online. It worked well.

Came to register on ff.net, and to my amazement, nobody had taken the name Candyland. So I snapped it up with delight. Voila, I had found my official psuedonym!

I originally tried to register on LJ as "Candyland," which is essentially my penname, but someone already had taken it. The amazing thing is that I went to that handle, and it's a dead community. Grr! Grr, I say! But anyhoo, I'm frequently known as Candy-chan by my fellow anime junkies, so I adapted that instead, and it became candy__chan.

So that's the progression. From Candy the high school nickname to Candyland the anime junkie fanfiction writer to candy__chan the LJ nerd. Nothing terribly exciting. Sometimes, when it's in need of numbers, I even make it Candyland1030, for my birthday--October 30. Whee, this is so not interesting.

But let's see, tag as many people as there are letters in my handle...nine?!? Tell ya what, anybody who sees this and wants to dazzle us with the story of how they came to have their LJ username or penname or whatever, feel free to! Hey, it's bound to be more interesting than mine was =P

Long long ago, when the world was yet young, there came the advent of the internet. And lo, people had a new realm in which to act childish and immature! And yea there was a great crash and behold there was Chathouse.

So when I was a younger lad I used to roleplay chat in chathouse, which was introduced to me by my friend mark. I then learned that my friend Dan, and my other friend Dan, both chatted in a room called Titan's Island, a roleplaying x-menish wolrd.

So in the process of creating many characters, and posting as many characters actions at once as possible*he who posts first wins!*, I came up with a new mutant, SpiritSage.

Spiritsage was a mutant with the power to alter reality within his immediate area. Basically anyone familiar with the game Mage? Like that only no nasty Paradox. Of course he was not all powerful, and I rather enjoyed knocking my own characters out with mundane bits and pieces from explosions, but he was pretty damned powerful. I became rather attached to the name and when I got actual messengers such as yahoo and msn, it was simple enough to choose. My only other option was Haddock which involves a bouncy ball, but that is another story, to be told another time...

The 333 is simple, it comes from my pagan background, all things come in 3's.

I remember the good old writing.com days. Actually, in our day, it was Stories.com...and it was a pretty neat site...until they got all retarded and wanted us to pay and crap. Dumb money.

good times.

Yeah, I remember those days...like having a mock-argument via journal postings when we were sitting three seats away from each other? God, we were NERDS!!

...not much has changed, really. We just graduated to LJ ♥

As things change, they always manage to stay the same.
