Well, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night. Little Sister was lovely enough to escort the entire family for free, as she works at the movie theatre and can do such things.

Oh. My. GOD!

First of all, Johnny Depp is as brilliant as ever. To use my mom's phrase, "The man is eye-candy." My response was, "Eye-candy with talent!" AND RAGETTI AND PINTEL WERE THERE, TOO!! They're like the Abbott and Costello of the Pirate-verse.

...kind of strange, but I think my two favorite scenes involved things rolling down hills *laugh* There was the one on that island with the cages (oh, Jack...), and the one with the watermill wheel! That was so cool, I actually started applauding (though I did notice something blooper-ish--when Jack jumps into the wheel, he brains himself on that metal bar, but then later on he's back inside the wheel, and there is no metal bar to brain himself on. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?)

Special effects ROCKED OUT LOUD. The monsters were as cool looking as ever--the Kraken, anyone? The Flying Dutchman jumping out of the water was so cool! I don't know if Davy Jones was as cool a villain as Barbossa--he was just an awesome character and an awesome bad guy. But Davy Jones was still rather interesting...as was the witch-lady whose name escapes me.

I have to agree with many in that the ending should have just had a big sign that said "To be continued in Pirates of the Caribbean III: If we don't get a REALLY good ending fight sequence, we'll hunt down the filmmakers." But did anyone else think that the last line (and the person who spoke it!!) was friggin' awesome? My Dad and I actually started cheering out loud--and I don't think we were the only ones, either. I won't tell, 'cause I don't want to spoil that uber-excellent moment for anyone else ♥

All in all...I WANT THE THIRD MOVIE NOW!! EVIL DEMANDS RESOLUTION!!

Oh, and I just have to add one more thing...my favorite line:

Jack Sparrow: *sing-songing* I've got a jar of dirt, I've got a jar of dirt... *falls down the stairs*

*always spoils self with movies that she's never seen--older sister spilled about the ending anyway*

Oi...doesn't evil NOT demand resolution? >D Because it wouldn't be evil if people got what they wanted--ESPECIALLY IF IT'S EVIL!

...backwards logic ftw!

...but dude, I wanna see the movie~ Waaaah! *flails*

I'm a spoiler junkie. I can never wait to find out what happens, and to heck with how it actually happens =P

I am evil, and I demand resolution. Ergo, EVIL DEMANDS RESOLUTION! ...AND POSSIBLY A MAKE-OUT SCENE!!

It's a good movie. I think the third movie is going to rule on every level.

So, tell me, who do you think she'll go for? Mr. Pirate Man or Mr. Son of a Pirate Man?

...I'm kinda thinking Mr. Son-of-a-Pirate Man *laugh* My friend [livejournal.com profile] writergurl and I were just discussing this.

Jack...I think it's more allure of the forbidden and all. And she's rebellious. Plus, ya know, she has a nasty habit of burning the rum and chaining him to boats to await imminent death and all.

Loved the movie--and I did stick around for the after-the-credits scene. It was a good laugh, but I wish it was more than five seconds long ^^;;

"though I did notice something blooper-ish--when Jack jumps into the wheel, he brains himself on that metal bar, but then later on he's back inside the wheel, and there is no metal bar to brain himself on. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?)"

Actually, you see Jack sorta half-duck into the wheel, then quickly make his way to the front of it (so he doesn't get brained again). The first time when he did get hit by the bar, the bars were few and far between, which helps explain why he had some time to get to the front of the wheel. Sorta like his handcuff-escape from the first one.

And if people were paying attention, they filmed the third one back-to-back with the second XD

The Kraken's mouth reminded me too much of the pit of Sarlacc from Star Wars...Anyways, yeah, Flying Dutchman=sexy.

Personally, I think Christian Bale would have been a much better Will Turner, but then again, I like eye-candy that can act. Bloom can't. XD

Jack: "Where's the thump thump??"

Sorry for the long, random comment, but yeah. I watched it midnight Friday, then again 'round 10:30 pm that night.

I knew they filmed two and three at the same time--the third one just isn't going to be out until next year. That's a long time to wait, and I am not a very patient person =3

Orlando Bloom...he's good-lookin' enough, but I can really take or leave his performance. In the end, it's really Johnny Depp's movie, I think ♥

Don't worry! I enjoy long comments!

Yup--when we saw who owned those boots, that's when Daddy and I started cheering! I knew he was supposed to be in the movie, but I kept looking for him in Davy Jones' crew or something. By the time it actually happened, I'd forgotten about him. So cool!

Snobby British Guy: A certain pirate named...Jack Sparrow.
Will and Elizabeth: *in unison* CAPTAIN.
