Greetings, LJ friends and lurkers!

Ehehe...well, I did post an f-locked teaser of the upcoming fic for [livejournal.com profile] 30_nights. Unfortunately...well, see, Candy-chan went out to run an errand today and discovered that the newest game in her favorite game series is finally in a store near you her. Sooooo...she bought it and rushed home and must now immediately play it.

Translation?

...

All fics are temporarily on hold until I beat the game. *runs away to play Danger by Design*

Since the game I'm playing takes place in France, I actually wanted to say it in French. So I think it should be...

Je ne parle pas l'anglais. Or something to that effect =P

I took six years of Spanish, and when I was typing that I could barely remember the verb hablar ^^;;

You got it right. Je ne parle pas l'anglais. :D

Mais, je parle francais aussi--un peu :D;;;;;

Ahaha, well at least you didn't put "No habla ingles!" I cringe when people do that. Of course my favorite line whenever something like that comes up is "No habla your language!" XDDDD

*totally didn't go to FreeTranslation.com on that French, nope nope nope* ^^;;

That does drive me nuts when people say "No habla ingles." I always want to give them a Look and say "Yes, I do." Taking it in the Ud. form, of course...wow, I still remember that.

As opposed to my father, who knows two words of Spanish: bano y cerveza. Figures =P

*innocent face*

I should have learned to say "Where's the bathroom?" in German before I went to Europe. Actually, I should have learned the word for "tap water" before going. Big mistake on my part ^^;; Instead, getting around on "Nein gas!"

'Nein gas' roughly means 'without bubbles.' Finding non-carbonated water over there is a bit of a trick, and it can be a wee bit on the expensive side.

Finding Pepsi is even tougher--only found that at the Hard Rock Cafe. For a Mountain Dew junkie like me...that's pretty tough o.o;;

The first time I left the States was just over the border to Toronto, Canada when I was in seventh grade. This is the first time I've ever been overseas. I do love languages, though.

One of the coolest things that happened on the trip was at an ice cream parlor, where we were trying to ask if that one flavor was raspberry chip. She holds up a little plastic tray with some raspberries in it and says that's what it is. We all go "Raspberry!" and she looks all happy and says, "Is that the English word for it?" I think 'erdbeer' is the German word for raspberry =D

Actually, the game before this was "Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon," and it had the Hardy Boys in it. The next one is a joint mystery, too!

Never read the Hardy Boys, but I loved Nancy Drew books when I was a kid =D

They're good games! Usually--some are better than others. They release two a year--one in the summer, and one in the fall. The fall release is generally better than the summer release, though, and I'm getting the feeling that's what the case is here. I played for an hour and a half before work, and I have the sinking feeling that I'm halfway through the game...and there hasn't really been a plot or any major case-points yet >_>

But the next game takes place in Hawaii. Which, oddly enough, makes me think of you ^_~
