Ahh, bliss ^_^

candylandI am home. I am comfortable. And I just got back from going out for a large dinner with my family. And now I'm a little bored. So I'm going to randomly LJ about...stuff. And spam your f-lists. But I spam with love =D
I didn't post this before, but something about music camps: I really prefer the show choir camp to the All-State camp. And I do mean really really.
The show choir kids are usually pretty well-behaved in the dorms at night, partially because they wear themselves out so much that by the time midnight rolls around and it's lights out, they're dead to the world anyway.
The All-State kids were just naughty this year. Running around, screaming, going into places where they were not supposed to be, and I really wish someone would tell me why the toilet plungers wound up in the hallway.
Denis (the head counselor) was ready to start knocking heads, and PK (our Fearless Leader) said that if we had any further problems, send the kids straight to her...for dismissal from the camp O_O Granted, we're not gonna send a kid over for, say, running in the halls, unless they do it a dozen times after we've told them to stop.
They announced this at the rehearsal right before the dance, and judging by the overall behavior Friday night, I'd say that the fear of God was put into those children. Really, one of my biggest problems on Friday was actually another counselor. So for your consideration...
Dear fellow counselor,
'All guys out of the girls' dorm' includes you, as you allegedly have a penis. So when we say that all Y-chromosomes need to vacate, that is not the time to go knocking on people's doors and starting up conversations. We're trying to calm people down and get them into their rooms. So please GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR DORM.

Date: 2006-08-06 04:30 am (UTC)So you were a counsellor? Sweet! I love counsellors. Granted, I went to bible camp instead of music camp (technically, a leadership conference, but bible camp just rolls off the tongue so much nicer), but our counsellors still rock. I loved my counsellor this year. <3
Glad you had a good time (at least, I think I saw a good time somewhere in there...), even if the campers were a bit troublesome.

Date: 2006-08-06 04:37 am (UTC)I've been at nonstop camps and conferences for the last two weeks. They're so much fun, and you can learn a ton. Plus, the conference was on a scholarship, so I got a free ride to hang with an awesome group of music directors from all over the state!
The camps are fun--the kids just got really rowdy, and it was a bit frustrating =P But the show choir camp was an absolute blast! I love those kids ♥ Good times, all around =) Sounds like you had fun at yours, too! Rock on!
