Isn't it awesome? socchan made it--she's got a few others if you'd like to post one and support Lurker Day on September 2nd! Can you tell that I really enjoy this whole holiday idea? 'Cause I do.

In other news, I promised a couple of people that I would post some piccies of my dorm room. And so here they are...but they're shy, so they're hiding under the LJ cut. Yes, I've had a fair amount of caffeine. Yes, I need sleep.



I'm an RA, so I have my own dorm room. This is the hall I live in, known as Athena House! Kinda creepy looking, but it is night and the lights are off (the RAs on duty have done their rounds!). The bulletin board off to the side will be finished this weekend, when I will put up the names and pictures of all my residents as a "Get to know your hallmates" kinda thing.



Anyone who's chatted with me over the last week or so knows I've been working frantically on door decs. These are the little signs that all the RAs make for their residents' doors. Mine weren't overly complicated, but I did make thirty of them, and they were hand-colored. Crayola markers are my friends! And yes, this is the one on my door...it's a saxophone ^^;;



And here's my room! A view from the door!



Behold my desk...which is currently strewn with room contracts and various other knick-knacks. That's a great word, isn't it? Knick-knacks...or should it be "those are great words"? I dunno...anyway, random close-up.



The entertainment center...which is also where the microwave lives! Yes, ninety-nine percent of the stuff on that DVD rack is anime or manga. No, that is not my entire collection. Yes, I am that big of a nerd. No, I don't have a life.



My favorite spot in the room. My bed...at the foot is the fleecy blanket my mom made me for Christmas a couple years back. I treasure that blanket--it's a foot taller than I am, which is freakin' awesome. And look, everyone! There's my laptop, Ari, with...a chat window open ^^;; Old habits die hard, I s'pose.



Flipping around, this is the view from my chair. BTW--my chair is most comfortable. And I really need to put something on that door...it's very boring.



And now I'd like you all to meet a slightly blurry picture of the newest member of my family. Everyone, this is my beta-fishie, who I have lovingly named Kaito ♥

And there you have it, as promised--my current habitat! And for the record...my room will probably never be this clean again. Not that there was a ton of mess yet, but I made sure I picked it up for opening weekend (especially 'cause my parents will be here to move my sister in this year!), 'cause a messy room is a really dumb thing to make a bad first impression with.

I don't know how much I'll be around online this coming weekend--we're going to be overrun with people! It's chaos...but somehow, it's just fun and crazy and hectic and okay so once in a while you want to bonk somebody because they just won't listen but then it's totally worth it in the end...

...I need sleep *falls over*

First off: I absolutely love your icon. That one just rocks. ^^

Second: Is it a bit wrong that, out of all those pictures, the main thing that popped out at me was the can of Mountain Dew? xD I saw that y nearly screamed "THE CULPRIT!!!!" Yeah, I really am too easily amused.

Hmmm...maybe it's that the Mountain Dew is the only bright green in a room decorated in fuschia, purple, and teal? Or maybe it's just the awesome power that is Mountain Dew? Either way, I read your comment and cracked up =D

Your room is so nice and purdy. If I took pictures of mine all anyone would see is a mess. A lovely mess of random papers and junks. Plus, you have a sax-o-mo-phone on your door!

Mine usually isn't this clean ^^;; I picked it up in honor of these pictures and Opening Weekend. Usually my room is a lot more like what you describe--a perfect mess of papers and such.
