Summary: Finally, they were married. Which meant…
The bathroom door opened soundlessly, and a pair of shining blue eyes peered out inquisitively. Seeing no dangers (or whatever it was that she was actually looking for), Aoko slipped through the door and shut off most of the lights before making her way towards the bed. The lamp on the nightstand was still on, casting a soft yellow glow around the room.
Kaito was sitting upright, his legs straight out in front of him on the mattress, crossed at the ankle, and his back against the wall, his head lulled to one side; he was wearing white pajamas, a gift from a family friend—the kind of sleepwear that somehow didn’t seem meant for mere slumber. Everything about the scene suggested that he was sound asleep.
She paused there, standing beside the bed, and just studied him. He looked so innocent, boyish, lost to the world like that. One errant lock of shaggy hair hung down over the middle of his forehead, making him look far younger than his twenty-one years. But there was more to it than that…
He seemed so vulnerable.
And it was a rare moment when Kuroba Kaito let himself be seen as defenseless as that. He was always so calm, so together. She had known him since their childhood days, and yet she could count on her fingers the number of times she’d seen him with those defenses stripped away over the years. Still, she knew from experience that he would rouse at the slightest disturbance.
Taking a deep breath, she lowered herself to sit on the edge of the bed beside him. To her surprise, he did not move, allowing her a few more moments of unhindered observance. But before long, her hands were itching to reach out and…
She reached up carefully to run timid fingers through his hair, brushing that stray lock away from his forehead. She knew that it would wake him up, but she just couldn’t help herself. And she had been right—his hair was wonderfully soft, still a tiny bit damp from the shower.
Aoko wasn’t surprised when his eyes slid open, and he turned his head ever so slightly to look at her. A slight smile tugged back the corners of his mouth. “Hello,” he said softly. “What can I do for you?”
“Admiring the view,” she replied.
“Admire all you like,” he murmured, closing his eyes again. “Just don’t stop.”
Aoko smiled and continued her lazy ministrations, stroking his hair and enjoying the silky feel of it between her fingers. It was incredible, how easily they were falling into their new roles; an entirely new level of comfort and closeness, and all it had taken to bring them there was an exchange of rings and soft-spoken promises.
“Are you happy?” Kaito asked in that same quiet voice.
“Absolutely.”
He reached up and caught her wrist, drawing her hand down to kiss her fingers, leaving her to wonder how he could still always catch her off-guard, both with his planned pranks and his spur-of-the-moment actions. And he had surprised her with how affectionate he really could be.
They’d ended up together—just as so many had always said that they would.
“What are you thinking about right now?” he asked.
“…how lucky I am,” she admitted, knowing that her blush was extremely obvious. She quickly changed the subject. “You look tired…it’s been a long day, and there’s a lot going on tomorrow, too.” She felt the color rise in her cheeks again. “Do you want to sleep?”
His expression grew a bit more thoughtful before he replied. “…no. Not yet.”
She didn’t have to ask what he meant—it was one of those things that had been silently eating at her in the month before the wedding. She’d never voiced it, but waited, knowing that it was expected and trusting that it would be all right.
“Are you okay?” Kaito interrupted her thoughts again, as though he were simply reading them. “Aoko, I won’t force you into…” The thought trailed off, leaving the implication to hang in the air.
She dropped her gaze for just a moment before looking back up at him with unmistakable determination. “…well?” she asked softly, her eyes shimmering in the yellow light.
He took a deep breath before reaching out with one hand and shutting that last lamp off. Never once did his eyes leave hers. The only remaining glow was that of the moon and the starlight. It was incredibly romantic, save for jangling nerves and shaky hands as they slowly reached towards each other.
Kaito’s hands found her waist. “I’ll take care of you,” he whispered through the darkness, and pulled her to him to kiss her. She let herself be drawn in, amazed at how shy she felt. She was no stranger to his kisses, nor he to hers, and it certainly wasn’t the first time he’d touched her as a lover might—she could remember the first time she’d let his uncertain hands roam with a bit more freedom. It was a nervous thrill, the forbidden fruit.
No…this kiss was different. It was a prelude, the beginning of their journey into uncharted and unexplored territory for both of them. There was a certain elation, knowing that there were no more taboos and no more ‘thou shalt nots’…but it was tempered by nerves at taking that next step to an entirely new level of intimacy.
Threading her fingers through the shock of brown hair on the back of his head, Aoko made a silent promise to herself: no reluctance, no fear, no reservations, and no holding back. She responded to the kiss with all of her passion and enthusiasm…
…and then Kaito shifted, turning sideways and reclining onto his back, pulling her down on top of him. One of his arms had snaked around her waist, while the other tangled itself into her hair, using that as leverage to guide her head into his kisses.
That only lasted a moment, though, before he rolled over to pin her beneath him and hands and lips sought new areas to feel and taste. She barely even noticed her long nightgown slowly working its way up her legs, her thighs, until finally he lifted it and pulled it over her head in one movement to throw it casually aside, an unnecessary obstacle.
She had only a moment to feel self-conscious before he was against her again, his weight pressed comfortably against her. Still, it wasn’t fair that he was still clothed, and she pushed a hand between them to tug at his shirt. The buttons opened easily, and she was able to push the offending garment out of the way, running her fingers over his chest. She’d seen him shirtless before, many times,
He had said that he would take care of her, and he was making good on his word. His lips trailed down her neck, over her chest, and she groaned and ran her fingers helplessly through his hair as he directed a copious amount of attention to her breasts. She arched against him, letting him have his way.
Kaito pulled back for a moment, and she nearly whimpered in protest. But she was vaguely aware of rustling fabric before he returned his attentions to the wanting area. His hands slid beneath her, around her waist, pressing her closer. Her hands raked across his back, shoulders, through his hair, but she was helpless in his hands.
He was a magician. He’d cast an entirely different type of spell over her, and she had fallen under it ever so willingly, letting him do what he wanted. And he was gentle…so very gentle…
The hands on her back pulled, making her sit upright, and she found herself face-to-face with him. Her breasts were pressed against his bare chest as she straddled his lap; her arms wrapped around his neck and instinctively pulled him closer, if it were possible to do so. His name escaped from her throat on a hurried breath as he claimed her lips for a possessive kiss.
It took her a hazy moment to realize her exact position—and his relative position. She could feel him brushing against her—and he was definitely aroused. A slight shudder of nerves slid down her spine at the contact…but she didn’t allow herself to panic or be afraid.
Instead, she pressed herself even more closely to him and deepened the kiss before breaking it and resting her forehead against his. “Kaito…” she whispered. It felt strange to speak coherently into such a moment, but somehow she needed to.
“Aoko…” he breathed in turn. “Are you…” The rest of the thought was lost to hoarse breathing.
She hesitated for only a second before reminding herself of her promise—her many promises. Taking a deep breath, she leaned her head in and stole a quick kiss. “I want you,” she whispered, breaking away. “Now.” She heard him gasp as she shifted…and let herself go, sliding down to receive him.
And immediately bit her lip to keep from screaming. It hurt. Oh God…it hurt…
“D-don’t…move…” she choked, feeling the sting of tears burning at the corners of her eyes. Her fingers dug into Kaito’s back as she tried desperately to get a full breath of air, blink back those tears, and adjust to this new, alien sensation...
To his credit, Kaito didn’t move. But he did nuzzle at her neck and hold her close in strong arms, whispering words of quiet encouragement and soothing reassurances. She felt the muscles in his back tense beneath her hands, though, and he trembled—even now, he had unmatched self-control.
After what felt like eons, the pain began to subside. Aoko swallowed hard…and moved, rocking against him to take him into her again. He hissed in surprise before matching his own movements to hers. His hands slid from her back on a more adventurous exploration, while his lips and tongue found their way to new areas on a further tasting expedition.
Aoko tried to keep her wits about her, though, and belatedly realized that she had open access to his neck. Taking a deep breath, she trailed her lips over his throat to a spot that she knew from experience was particularly sensitive. And she was amply rewarded when he groaned and paused in his own attentions to tilt his head and granted her unlimited access, which she gladly took advantage of. All the while, their movements never ceased.
But her own affections were derailed when his wandering hands found their prize and brushed against her most sensitive spot. The contact made her gasp and cling to him. “Right there…” she breathed into his ear. “Please…”
He chuckled—a low sound, deep in his throat—and obliged. His fingers pressed against the appointed area, and Aoko suddenly had no room for conscious thought. She simply moved—she might have spoken his name, but there was no awareness. Only feeling and movement that didn’t seem to end.
And Kaito. There was Kaito.
There was always Kaito.
Between the continual press and movement of their union and the careful workings of incredibly talented fingers, it finally became too much. Aoko bit her lip, gasped…and cried out as something entirely new happened. She writhed in pleasure and moaned out loud (she might have said his name—she wasn’t certain) as every muscle in her body spasmed and released in an epic assault on her senses.
Beneath her hands, Kaito trembled and spasmed and shouted as he joined her at the apex.
They clung to each other as he fell backwards against the mattress and the rumpled bedclothes, pulling her down on top of him once again, twisted in each other’s limbs and lost in each other’s kisses.
It was quiet after that, for a long while. Without moving her much, Kaito somehow managed to pull the bedding around them, over their naked forms. But finally, Aoko sighed and nuzzled his neck. “Kaito…thank you.”
“You’re all right?” he moved his head to look right at her. “I mean, really? You’re okay?”
“I’m wonderful,” she smiled. “And you’re wonderful.”
His blush was evident, even in the darkness. “You were…wonderful too.”
She smiled and sighed again. “So…do you think you might like to try that again?
“Absolu—HMPH?” Kaito started to reply—but was cut off when Aoko pressed her lips against his for a quick, possessive kiss.
And he gaped—like a fish, as it were—when she smiled, leaned down close enough to brush her nose against his, and whispered, “Then I think it’s my turn to take care of you.”
After all, the night was still young. And they had all the time in the world.
PS. Okay, okay, there are actually two versions of this particular chapter, which I promised to
fyliwionvilyaer somewhere around the third post in this series. This is the smexy one. The non-smexy one can be found on ff-dot-net, linked at the bottom of this post. As to realism…well, I think this ended up very pretty ^^;;
Anyway, thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed my attempt at smexy—much love, all!
