Heard in choir yesterday...

PK: *to the accompanist* CRASH! CRASH! (in reference to hitting the chords hard)
Choir: *laugh*
Girl next to me: *leans over* I don't think it's a good idea to shout 'Crash!' on 9/11...
Me: *looks down at music and starts singing* Homeland, the country that I love...

Forget blondes--I think altos have the most fun.

Someday, when I'm a choir director, I hope I have moments like that, when I say something intended to be completely innocent, but everyone takes it the wrong way. I also hope that I'll realize what I said so I can laugh about it. See, I think it's a law that choir teachers do that kind of thing--my favorite PK-ism is probably what she said to the All-State altos in reference to German pronunciation: "The faster you wrap your mouth around it, the faster it'll come. Don't be shy, now!"

But my favorite of all time was told to me by a guy at ICDA. They were singing "O Come O Come, Emmanuel," and this director was uber into text. And he got a little upset about their pronunciation, I guess...

Director: No, no, no! You're not feeling the come! You need to wrap your mouth around the come! Your mouth must be fill with come!

From what I hear, he was a rather large scary man, so everybody bit the insides of their cheeks and tried not to laugh.

[livejournal.com profile] ashleymouse (who is new to LJ, BTW--everyone go say hello!) started singing to my pet fish last night. He got very, very droopy. But I saved Kaito-fishie. And don't worry, I'm only teasing--she's got an awesome voice. Plans for Monopoly: The Musical! are well underway. I think we just need an actual storyline ♥ And, ya know...rights, perhaps?

Ya know, it's sad that I understood every bit of inadvertent innuendo in those quotes. Ugh . . . and people assume innocent people don't have dirty minds. -.-*

Sounds like you have some amusing directors. XD I haven't been in choir for years. Kind of miss it, now.

I love how you refer to her as PK... She is forever known by her last name in our family.

I want to help write the script for Monopoly: the Musical! Oh can I can I PLEASE??? I'll start scheming and jot down some plot ideas!

And if it doesn't completely suck, we should find some theater group to perform it! haha.
