Never say good luck on opening night....
Oct. 13th, 2006 09:48 amTo everyone who I was on chat with last night--my School of Education paperwork? DONE! DONE AND TURNED IN! I finished doing the part that had to be handwritten and brought it in this morning. Joan, the secretary for the School of Ed, kinda chuckled and said she'd had a lot of company today. Good to know I'm not the only one who brought everything in today! But anyway, I asked her if she could double-check and make sure everything was turned in. Stuff has a nasty habit of not being there when I need it to be, so I try to double, triple, quadruple check where possible.
Bless her, she is such a lovely person. She flipped through my file and said I had my preference form, my formal application, my contract, and I'd just turned in my three questions, so all they needed was the personal data form, and I was good to go. When I looked blank, she said they'd emailed it out last week. Another girl came in with hers, and showed it to me. Never seen it before in my life.
She emailed it to me. I immediately filled it out and fired it back at her. All is well! *sits back to wait and hope for placement* I'll know before December. Here's hoping I get the placement I want!!
According to my weather thingie, it's thirty-six degrees here. Last night, I know it dropped to twenty-eight (but the wind chill was nine degrees). We had snow flurries a couple days ago. The wind keeps picking up, too.
jeva_chan, based on our weather, I maintain that sixty degrees is freakin' paradise, plzkthx. And while I'm aware that you guys think marching in that temperature is cold--our record was a performance on a twenty-degree day. In a flag corp outfit (which is basically one thin layer away from bare arms). With a metal flagpole in my hands...NO PITY!! *huggles* I heckle because I care *heart* And why does my heater insist on bringing forth heat during the day, but spewing forth nothing but cold air come nighttime? WRRRRRRRRY??
For those who I hadn't told, I probably won't be online at all this weekend. My friend Torie is getting married, and I'm off to Kansas City to go shopping and stuff =3 I'm leaving right after classes today, and I'll be back on Sunday. Not totally looking forward to the drive, but should be a blast once I get there!
Oh yeah, and before I forget...
HAPPY LUCKY DAY, EVERYONE!!
May your Friday the 13th be filled with joy and minimal freak-accidents!
EDIT: So I preordered the first Conan movie, and it's been reserved for my order on the website for two weeks. I have another item on preorder, but that's not out until the end of November. So I messaged Customer Service and asked about it--they released it to me. I should have Conan movie one sometime next week--just in time for fall break viewing!! *happy happy backflip*

Date: 2006-10-13 04:51 pm (UTC)BUT DO YOU MARCH IN A HEAT INDEX OF 110 WITH 100% HUMIDITY! I THINK NOT! D:! THERE'S A REASON WHY LOUISIANAIANS WHINE ABOUT THE COLD AND THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS HOT DOWN HERE! WE NEVER GET SNOW! D:! ...except for this one time...the northern part of Louisiana got like...an inch of snow which was melted before the end of the day. But we do get ice storms from times to time. ~___~;;;
AND AT LEAST YOU GET SNOW WHEN IT'S COLD AND NOT JUST VERY VERY COLD RAIN! D:!
._. Everyone picking on me...but you will notice that none of the ones picking on me comes from the south--BECAUSE THEY AGREE WITH ME! D:! *huggles'd* ♥

Date: 2006-10-13 07:09 pm (UTC)We live in Iowa. You just described the first month of practice and possibily the first actual performance. We go to both extreme's during our marching season. We would have loved to march in 60 degree weather in our polywoolyurithane marching band outfits!
Now I will let her speak for herself ^^

Date: 2006-10-13 07:12 pm (UTC)Perhaps not quite that hot. But I did have passed out on the field during marching practice because of the damn humidity. I don't handle heat well at all.

...have you driven on snow before? If not, please do so before you tell me it's a blessing *shudders at memory of careening off the road into a ditch*
We can argue about this 'till the cows come home, and neither of us is going to budge. *luffs* I'm just enjoying the debate *laugh*
