On-line journals are little filters that we each see every one else's lives through, the parts others choose to share with us. That said, we all think we are close, but really we seldom know *a lot* about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ/GJ and find out what people don't know about you. If you want to. =)

Ask me as many questions as you want. I'll be posting more about the conference and everything later. Let's just say I got back at eight-thirty, changed and crawled into bed by nine-thirty, and was sound asleep by eleven. Woke up at ten-thirty this morning. It was BEAUTIFUL, not gonna lie.

So...yeah. Meme me. Now please. THE POWER OF EVIL COMPELS YOU!!

Alrighty, how many sisters do you have?

Put it this way: I have one full sister--we have the same mother and father. And then I have a half-sister from my dad's first marriage. So...it could be either one or two, depending on how you look at it.

...one and a half?

Ok. I don't have any sisters, although I used to have a half sister. My dad was engaged to her mom, but that was broken off after... a year? I've lost contact with the half-sister since.

How long have you been in choir?

In a real choir? I was in a community choir for children for three years in middle school, as well as being in my school choir. That was my first real introduction to multi-part music. Then I joined my high school choir and did the show choir for all four years, and did the All-State choir my senior year...so that makes seven solid years of real choral music. Then I got to college, and have been in the concert/chamber choirs here for the last three and a half years.

So ten and a half years, not counting elementary general music =D

I dabbled in it a bit when I was in high school, but it wasn't until just before my senior year of high school that I started writing in earnest. *sigh* That was all the way back in my DBZ fangirl days... XP

Food >.> I eat way too much, and...well, it kinda shows *hangs head*

Also, I have a tendency to procrastinate. Badly. Indulging in laziness, yes =P

xD Niiiice. I never would've guessed that about Ursula. xP

So for my question (y this prob'ly because I'm freaking out about my own situation so much): what exactly are you doing after college? I know you're a music major, but you've also talked about this teaching thing. Are you planning on being a music teacher or something?

EEP! I've been caught by the Hug Fairy! *hugs back* ♥

I'm actually a music ed major. I student teach next semester, and after that...well, I'll have to get a job. I'm panicking a lot about it, really--I need to get a resume together still, and then survive interviews and such...yeah >.> But I do intend to get a job.

The conference I went to yesterday? That was actually for IMEA--Iowa Music Educators Association. Learned a LOT about interviews and such at one of the sessions. So just gotta get out there and do it! *victory pose*

*hides under bed* Mommy make the real world go awaaaay...

(if comment appears twice, it's because LJ was being silly)

This ties in with [livejournal.com profile] wish_wielder just a bit but here I go: What are your dreams? It could either be about the world or your own personal goals in 10 years.

(Nope, only once! *thumbs up*)

Well...I'd like to have a career as a teacher, with a successful choir. Hopefully I'll have most of my student loans paid off. I'd like to be married, maybe even have kids, but that's not a necessity--the sun does not rise and set by whether or not I'm single =P

...I suppose world peace and intelligent leadership is an awfully big stretch for world dreams, huh? *laugh*

Otherwise...yeah. I want to be happy and healthy and secure, and have all the people I care about be happy and healthy and secure =)

Do you like arts and crafts? (aka Scrapbooking and knitting?)

Yup yup yup! I'm really not much of an artist, but I do want to learn to scrapbook. And Mommy has taught me to knit and crochet, but I kind of forgot how to do it, so she's going to reteach me ♥ I really like stuff like that--I was really little when she taught me how to sew, too, like plastic canvas and cross-stitch and latch-hooking and stuff. It find it wonderfully relaxing =D

What other musical talents do you have? And how do you feel about togas?

Well, I sing (natch--it's my major!). I also play piano (...sort of) and euphonium--that's a tenor tuba, but nobody's every heard of it. I'm not really much of a composer of original melodies, but I have done some arranging--I did an arrangement of "Scarlet" from Ceres for woodwinds.

I'm probably a theory teacher's worst nightmare, though. I don't work in chords when I'm arranging stuff, I just go by what sounds good =P

As for togas...I have seen a few people who should not wear them. But in high school during Homecoming week, the seniors always got toga day. You waited for three years to get your turn to wear a toga to school ♥ It was fun!

Ok, this is a tough one. Here it goes...

Coke or Pepsi?

Hee, sorry. That was silly. I know it's Mountain Dew.

But seriously now...if you had the option of not having to worry about money or any sort of financial security, what would you like to do with your life?

And...what's your favorite book?

*giggles and bonks you with ze squeaky mallet* Silly! If I had to choose, I'd choose Pepsi...but it's weird, because thanks to my Mom, I don't actually like regular Pepsi. It must be diet. That's the only place where that applies. But overall? Yes, Mountain Dew is my poison of choice ^_~

...ya know, I've always loved to travel. I've travelled a good deal in my twenty-one years--been to Chicago, Toronto, Estes Park (in Colorado), Nashville, San Diego, and a few places in Europe. I'd love to see more of the world. My dream is to go to Japan someday ♥ And maybe go visit a few friends *pokepokepoke*

My favorite "classic" book is probably Catcher in the Rye, largely because the language actually spoke to me and I could understand it!! Regular reading-wise, I love Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series--I picked up all three books of her Heralds of Valdemar trilogy and read them in three days--one book a day ♥♥♥
