Best. Idea. EVER!

*waves* Hey, all! I'm replying to comments slowly but surely, I promise n_n Anyway, the greatest thing ever just happened, and I thought I'd share. This cracked me up, and I think the rest of my Religions of Asia class will enjoy it as well.

Okay, so we have to do this project in which we make a thing called a mandala. These are meditation tools, and representative of a whole lotta stuff. Our assignment is to make a mandala...in a modern idiom. We're encouraged to use the internet and all of our lovely technology tools and whatnot to make it--and she wants us to be as creative as possible.

So we're skimming through that website, trying to figure out what the best way to do this would be. I'm looking at the various symbolisms and representations of different aspects of the mandala, trying to think of a creative take on things. And I'm thinking, "Hmmm...Consciousness is represented by a monkey swinging on a branch. There's a realm of greedy ghosts. There's a monster. The Root of All Evil is at the center...isn't money usually considered to be the root of all evil?"

I turned to my partner and said, "Hey...have you ever seen Pirates of the Caribbean?"

We're going to make our mandala using images and/or video clips from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. And then we had the thought that the circle could be a ship's wheel--it's perfect for what we need! And the Kraken which totally doesn't mean tentacle pr0n *glares at axtar* can be set at the top as the Monster of Impermanence! Still got some details to figure out, but I think this might wind up being a most interesting project =D If I need thoughts, I might be asking for opinions ♥

Oh, and before I forget...

Omg :O I just did a mandala project for Religion too! Except mine probably isn't worth as much as yours will be? XD And not as like, modern. XD And it's like, yeah. Not really a mandala, but a circle with lots of pretty pictures that we drew. :D
