It's official: when in a bad mood, go out with your best friend since kindergarten (aka msbbt). Have dinner, then go to Barnes and Noble and various other stores where you know you will spend money that you really should not but that's okay because you're stressed and in an uber-bad mood.

I bought manga. And CDs. And there was much rejoicing.

Ran into writergurl at the restaurant, too! That was awesome! *snuggles*

Oh, and at msbbt's insistence, I will post this exchange for you...

Me: *discussing fandoms and pairings therein* Bleach seems like one of those fandoms where everyone gets paired up with everyone else. Kinda like Harry Potter.
Her: Yeah... (There was more to this part of the exchange, i.e. discussing our Potter-ships, but it's not really important.)
Me: Then you go into a fandom like Conan, where it seems like most people stick more or less to the canon pairings. I mean, it's either canon...or Icka.
Her: *dies* You need to post that on LJ.

...and no offense to ickaimp, I hope >.> 'Cause I don't think it was intended to come out like that.

Well, I should go shower and go to bed--may tomorrow not be as hellish as today was.

Waahhh, I missed the last Lurker Day and it's looks like that I'm going to miss this one. I move on the 27th of this month, and I don't think it's possible for me to get anything decent up on the 2nd. Blah. >.> Gotta get settled in the new place. :P

I've got a few LJs at which I lurk...and plot to delurk. I'm a real coward about that kind of thing, so it takes something like Lurker Day to make me actually speak up ^^;; But I do fully support the offerings of pr0n, and half-jokingly demand my fair share.

I usually stick pretty tight to canon pairings, although there are exceptions. Eriol/Tomoyo from CCS, for starters--not canon, but one of the more popular pairings in the fandom. Most of my Conan OTPs are canon, but I enjoy the fanon side of things now and again :3

Unless Conan-Ai is canon, then I'm gonna shuddup about the english fandom, but we do have one CRACK-pairing god in the French fandom. *Grin* ^^

Well, I don't consider Conan/Ai canon, because it's really not. But what I meant was that a lot of the alternative pairings seem to pop up in the Icka-verse ^^;; I just kinda fail at getting my point across *hangs head in shame*

But you're right that most alternative pairing fics seem drowned by the "canon" ones. ^^; Even in the french fandom, before Claude decided to flood the section with his fics alternatives were rare.
