What I've seen thus far of him, I adore. He's so cute and klutzy and sweet and androgynous. I WANT TO HUG HIM!! :D

...there are fics where Ayumi and Ai bitch at each other? O.O Pleeeeeeeease to be telling me that these are AU fics? Because I think their friendship is one of the sweetest things on the show D:

Alas yes. Mediocre Conan-Ai fics, where they give up on the antidote and forget the org' to relive their adolescence... And then Ayumi and Ai decide to fight over Conan's twue lurve. Going as far as doing Prank Wars on each other. Mean ones.

That said when looking for Ai fics? There aren'tweren't that many that actually had an interesting characterization of Ai. So those fics weren't that bad a read if you could get over the dreadful OOCness of Ayumi and Ai hating each other's guts. And the fact it was formulaic. Once? Okay. 4 times? Bwuh. D:

I have only found a couple of Conan/Ai fics that didn't make me want to headdesk because of the rabid OOC-ness and incoherent/implausible plot. I wish I could remember the name of that one...it actually was showing some potential to be pretty interesting D:

Pranks Wars? ...how bad is it that the first thing to pop into my head was "hydrochloric acid"? *hands head* I am a horrible person...

Ayumi is essentially the only person who had express permission to call Ai by her first name. How in the hell do people figure that they'd start hating each other? RAR! *makes note to attempt to write something Ai-centric for fanfic100*

Can you describe the fic? I used to stalk all the Conan-Ai fics I could find, so maybe I know it.

And indeed. Usual excuses that come up are that people *change* with time, especially young children, but humpf. Moot point.

I've written ONE Mitsuhiko/Ai fic on request/as a birthday gift. It's here, (http://candy--chan.livejournal.com/131098.html) as part of my insanity fanfic100 challenge ^^;; I don't think I've really written her otherwise--I fail pretty hardcore at getting her character right...which doesn't stop me from writing Heiji, but we won't go into that.

That's the weird thing--it really didn't have much plot to it. At least, it hadn't when I last read it. It was a lot of dialogue, little scenes that somehow seemed strung along some sort of cohesive thread.

People do change. But to change that much that quickly? No--change is a gradual thing. They might grow apart as they grow up (and that's a big MIGHT)...no.

Heh, yeah, I find Heiji hard to write as well. ^^; (Though Ai I have a facility with as long as I keep away from the snipey/retort and chemistry aspects I think... That said, Ai is so mysterious peoples' expectations of her can be very different. Just on the grow up or not issue there's divergence.)

Hmmm... Rings no specific bells. There are so many slice of life fics with those two. :c/ That and I have a lousy memory apparently. Was discussing this with Claude (randomaicoholic) just now. Was it Kaitou Magician's 31 days?

Re change: definitely agreed. As much as I find the idea of adult!Ayumi flirting with Kogoro amusing, I can't picture her losing her smart and honest innocence and strong character... It's just. D:

Yay! Thank you! :D I'm actually trying to do more of the neglected couples for that challenge--expect a Yuusaku/Yukiko fic in the near future ^^;; And hopefully more Mitsuhiko/Ai.

I have difficulty in writing A) Heiji's individual character, and B) nailing the balance of his relationship with Kazuha. And yet I insist on trying to write them >.>;; I really should just leave it to fireblazie.

Adult!Ayumi...flirting with Kogoro...?? O.O I actually find that kind of horrifying which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that I'm a closet Eri/Kogoro shipper AND that he's how much older than her? >_>)

*shakes head* That's not ringing any bells either D: Oh well...but I might just go give that fic a read :3

I love Heiji, he's so fun to draw, but I find it very tiring trying to keep up with his up-beat character in fan-fiction. That and his relation with Kazuha just doesn't interest me that much. ^^; ...even if I'll admit Kazuha has potential.

Naturally I'd be appalled to see any serious fic on the subject (unless it was very very well written. ^^; ) The "older" issue is fully assumed, have no worries.
