Just so y'all know--if you're chatting with me and I suddenly go *poof!* it probably means that my internet went 'splody and I had to unplug my modem, wait ten seconds, and plug it back in. It does that every once in a while. I don't know why, and it's really annoying, but meh. I HAVE INTERNETZ!

Today has been a very BLAH day. Like, to the point where I actually sat down and had a good five-minute cry for no real reason. And I strangely felt better afterwards, even though I don't know consciously why I was crying.

[livejournal.com profile] magic_truth had a job interview today! I think it was today...but anyway, I hope it went well, hon! YOU MUST TELL ME HOW YOU KNOCKED THEM DEAD! And I hope [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi had a pleasant orientation at her new job today as well! Me? I'm just...sort of hanging around.

At least I have some stuff to look forward to, though--I should be getting my Fruits Basket manga volume seventeen tomorrow (along with a few other manga volumes I ordered) *hopehopehope* I already know the big spoiler, but I still want to read the volume and know the whole thing.

Honestly, I've been sort of torn about Furuba as of late. It started out as a really unique, original series with some fascinating characters and a great plot and the right balance of humor and thought-provoking drama/angst. The anime version (which I still adore) was my first "real" anime, so I feel a great amount of loyalty to the series...BUT! You knew there was a "but" coming, didn't you? There's always a "but" to these things...

BUT...it's sort of lost that. [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and I have discussed this a couple of times. She HATES shoujo with a passion. Fruits Basket and Princess Tutu have been the only exceptions that I'm aware of and/r that we've found--though we might be able to categorize some of the rest into varying grades of annoying? *laugh*

Anyway, she hates shoujo but loved Furuba. Until we got into some of the "post-anime" stuff in the manga. And it sort of went from being the unique, interesting story...into a stereotypical shoujo manga, full of drama and angst and flashbacks, dear GOD, more flashbacks than Naruto! It feels like a lot of the sparkle that made it so fun in the beginning is gone. And that makes me really sad, because I do love the series.

I'm going to see it out to the end. I will have all twenty-three volumes of it sitting on my bookshelf. And when I get volume twenty-three, I will probably put a fun playlist on and sit down and start from volume one and read straight through to the end. Like I said, I have loyalty to Fruits Basket, and I want to see exactly how it ends. With my own eyes. But...I still can't stop thinking that the charm is gone D:

And while I'm yammering on, might as well add that after watching Naruto Abridged on Daily Motion and YouTube, I decided to pick up my Naruto manga again (I have five volumes of it) and give it another go. And...I don't know if actually seeing it (in all its parodied glory) helped or what, but I liked it better. I might have to start picking it up again.

Although...at the end of the written part of the Chunin exam, when Ibiki picks up the paper and sees that Naruto hasn't answered a single question, I couldn't help but mentally think, "I...hate...the Log?"

I've also started really reading again--Yami no Matsuei and One Piece are at the top of my list. [livejournal.com profile] sora_ko, I'm just gonna go ahead and blame you for that second one ~♥ AND Hikaru no Go, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] aishuu--I think she wants me to get into that fandom :3 I have also watched the first five episodes of La Corda d'Oro so that [livejournal.com profile] strawberrychan will stop bonking me with a very large stick.

See...it's sort of weird. I guess "bored" isn't the word I would use to describe how I've been feeling about Conan as of late. I don't even know what the right word would be. It's almost that "stuck in a rut" feeling, but not quite -_-;; I fail at making sense. But...as I told [livejournal.com profile] ran_mouri82 earlier, I sort of feel like ALL my Shinichi/Ran fics are starting to look exactly the same.

I'm not done with Conan yet--not a chance. But...I am looking for a new fandom to dabble in. The trouble is that sometimes I can love a series dearly, but not have the fic-muses go *ping* (see also: Host Club, Ouran High School AND Tutu, Princess). I guess that's the trick. I've watched/read a LOT of series over the years...but written for ten. I guess it'd be better to say I've written for about six, because for four of those fandoms I've written five fics or less. For two of them (Sailor Moon and Rurouni Kenshin) I have written ONE.

I still love Conan. But I want something new that I can dig my little plunnie fangs into and torment and play with like ya do. It's just finding that next series that'll make me want to write. I haven't really had one in a while. So...if anyone has any further recommendations, I'll take them! Just please...don't say PoT. First off, I'm really not into sports anime/manga, and secondly...the fandom looks frightening. There's not enough yaoi in the world for that O.O

...wow, I haven't done a major fandom babble in a REALLY long time. This felt kinda good 8D

No, I haven't. I think I might have torrented an episode somewhere but never watched it...still kinda iffy on that one because I read the play in high school >.>;;

Not that forceful... xD;;

Believe me, it is so much different from the play, though basic plot is the same though.

andyourlittledogtoo! Go for it! 8D I'm sort of making a list from the suggestions people give me, and then I'll start diving in ^___^

Furuba is twenty-three volumes. I'm trying to figure out who's left to go on the covers for the last four volumes @_@

I do have to say, some of the stories in Furuba were a middle unnecessary for the central story, but I'm really satisfied with the ending. After all, Furuba is a feel-good story and that showed through the ending.

And I agree with [livejournal.com profile] wolf_crossbreed. Romeo X Juliet is worth checking out.

I'm holding out hope for a good ending, because right now it sort of feels like it's bogging down. But at least on this volume (which I will have today, SQUEE! ...ya know, 'cause it's two-thirty AM and all...), there's a new and interesting plot point! YEYNESS! 8D

...still sort of "Ehh..." about checking that series out because I read the play in high school and it was like "TEENAGE ANGST YEY!"

Actually, if you feel like trusting me enough, you could give me your address and I could mail you copies of my disks. I have the whole series already. I could even throw in the last two episodes raw (I got them just as the series ended). You'd have to wait until after I get back from my trip but it still would be faster than downloading the whole series (and less irritating than when a torrent won't go).

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure of what I'm doing with Furuba. As of now sticking with it. And I haven't had any complaints on the one episode I saw of Ouran!

Hmm... A series... Buso Renkin!!! I've... only read the first five volumes (I still can't find six DX) but it's Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin) which leads me to believe it stays awesome! Oh, there was such a plot twist in the last chapter I read... @_@

It was probably my mistake ^^;; You know your schedule better than I do! But do tell me how it goes ~♥♥♥

Let's both stick with it to the end--we've come this far, right? And besides, if we don't like the ending, we can have fun mocking it together! 8D And I always forget about Ouran...I sort of put Ouran in the same category as Fruits Basket in terms of style and feel. But yah, I will get it on discs. I need more CDs...

:O *adds to list* I remember you mentioning that one, I think...it's the one where B&N never had the volume you needed, right?

ZOMG COORDINATED ICONS!

I know the feeling about liking shows but not being able to write for them! Out of all the shows/games I like, I've only been inspired to write for YGO, Detective Conan, FF7, and KH. I have one unfinished Sailor Moon fic, badly in need of being rewritten before being continued, and I loved writing for Sonic the Hedgehog.

As for something new ... what about YGO? **isn't sure if you've ever tried it.** Oh! And The Twelve Kingdoms! It's a fantasy adventure. I sometimes think of it as MKR taken to the next level.

A couple of fandoms (Sailor Moon being the prime example) I don't get into because A) everything's been done already, and B) they kinda scare me. But you've been cranking out FF7 fics like a maniac as of late! *has you on Author Alert, yes*

...I've actually thought about giving YGO a try. But not the 4Kids version. I've seen the Abridged Series 8D And that's love *points to icon and grins* What would you recommend for YGO--the manga or the anime? And I've heard of The Twelve Kingdoms... *adds to list*

Buwahaha! **pets FF7.** I need to write the KH plunnies that have bouncing in my head.

XD The Abridged Version makes the 4Kids version seem a lot more ridiculous than it usually is. But at the same time, it's downright hilarious. My favorite "screw the rules" is definitely "I have green hair!" LOL.

And I'd definitely recommend the anime. ^^ There's some arcs only available in the anime, and I adore pretty much all of them. But I don't care for season 0, the episodes produced by Toei. So bizarre. XD; And that's where green-haired Kaiba is from. But the really long Duel Monsters anime is love. X3

I have never played a Final Fantasy game *ducks flying objects* Apparently to some people that means I'm not a real gamer, but to them I say BLAH! And I do love Kingdom Hearts--but again, the plunnies aren't biting T_T

I've seen ONE episode of the 4Kids version...and I did think it was pretty ridiculous. I guess I prefer my anime...I dunno...unedited?

Huh...I found a couple of torrents for YGO, but I have no idea which ones to download @_@ Guess I need to do a bit o' research to see what I need to get if I'm going to start watching 8D

Truthfully, I've never played one either, but it isn't because I don't want to. I just don't have the money to buy the consoles and the games. XD; **has to settle for reading game scripts and watching cutscenes online.** At least for FF7, there's also the movie to watch. ^^

Sometimes season 0 is called series 1, which is probably more accurate, since it is a separate series from Duel Monsters. I just picked up the fanon name for it and it's stuck. XD;

If you DO end up reading One Piece, I'll happily take the blame. By the way, I blame YOU for the fact that I really want to watch Princess Tutu. xD

But I know what you mean. I'm impressed how you have been able to write so much awesome fanfiction about Conan at all up to now... and if you'd rather dabble in other fandoms for a while as long as the Conan muses take a break (and maybe collect ammunition to attack you full-force again later ;)), that's perfectly understandable.

I've read one volume of the manga, and ordered two more. So far, I think I like it. Don't know if it'll ping my muses, but we'll see. Still way too soon to tell.

Princess Tutu...I don't know if you torrent, but look here if you do? (http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=Princess+Tutu) It's a beautiful series ~♥♥♥ And I like all the characters in it--even the ones I hate! ...well, except Mytho. I don't have an opinion on Mytho, really...mostly because he doesn't get to have a personality until the very last episode XD

Aww, thank you!! *glomp snuggle snuggle* I still love Conan, but I've been writing for it almost exclusively for...what, three years now? I just need something fresh to spark things up 8D But I will keep writing Conan! Including Heiji and Kazuha in their apartment, which will include smexy at some point down the line \o/

Oh I can SO hear you about being a bit tired of Conan! It's still my major plunny producing fandom thus I won't probably leave DC for another long time, but I really wanted to watch/read/fangirl over other fandoms for a change.^^;
Have you tried Bleach yet? Me, obsessed by Bleach for now that much? Nooo, what makes you think that?!0:)

Sad to hear that about Furuba by the way, I have never read the manga but watched the anime till the end. It didn't reach a favorite series level, but it was ok and I have been wondering how the plot would continue. *sigh* *is not much of a shoujo-fanatic either*
And HikaGo is simply cracktastic!♥

(no subject)

Exactly. That's EXACTLY how I feel. I don't intend to stop writing/fangirling over Conan for quite some time. But I need something different.

Bleach...I have the first four volumes, but I haven't really gotten into it. Maybe I need to watch the anime...it's weird. Sometimes I get sucked into a series via the manga (Magic Knight Rayearth is a great example of this), and sometimes it takes the anime to do it (Naruto, because Naruto Abridged actually made me pick the manga back up)

As for Furuba...this volume had a nice plot-twist. And nudity. I appreciate the nudity *is bricked* But yeah, five more volumes to find out if sticking with it was worth it. Still trying to figure out who'll be on the last four volumes.

HikaGo, thus far, is love ~♥♥♥

Hey, I'm glad I'm not alone with that feeling!:D

No, that's okay if you don't really get into Bleach, don't worry for that. I still have to start reading the manga (very soon, or that's what I hope) that's why I can only speak for the anime, but the episodes I liked most (and which finally made that addicted as I am now) begin with episode 110 if I remember that right. The first arc (Soul Society) is okay too, but a bit long, the Bount arc wasn't my favorite, it was finally the Arrancar I like best. But I can fully understand if that's too long for you.
Other for Bleach... Hmm, I don't if you would like Monster? I LOVE the series like mad, but it's a totally different style to what you seem to watch/read usually...? And do you know D.N.Angel?

Nudity? *grin* Is it the famous part with Akito? *no clue of anything but heavily spoiled*
