The high school is dismissing at one PM. Early out, I assume due to the heat. It's currently five after nine, and the temperature is seventy-nine degrees...but it feels like it's eighty-two. We got the email at five after eight this morning (before first period), and the temperature was already seventy-three. It is HOT.

I wasn't sure if this would transfer over to the middle school, which has air conditioning...but I just got that email. They're having the early out there as well. I have no idea what this means for teachers as to whether we have to stay or not...but it means all my class periods are SHORT 8D

This puts happy into my heart ~♥♥♥

Oh, and for the record? I think I look really, really cute today =D

Yay for getting out early! X3

And is the version of your C'mon Marianne song the original by the 4 Seasons, or the later one by the ... I always forget who did the other one. XD;

The first weather-related early out of my career! YAY!

It's actually from the Jersey Boys soundtrack, which is a Broadway musical that came out a couple of years ago based on the story and music of the Four Seasons ^^;;

And I still say there's a fanfic in "Sherry" and her red dress...somewhere...

Ah, the third version, then. X3 I heard about the musical, and have wanted to see it. I must look into the soundtrack. **has been a 4 Seasons fan since 1999.**

Someone should make a crack AMV of Gin and Sherry to the Sherry song. X3

*nodnod* I realized that I knew quite a few of their songs when I started listening to the soundtrack. Also found out that my father was a big fan of theirs back in the day ^_^

I actually had the idea of Shinichi playing that song really loudly during the Final Confrontation with the Syndicate, just to bait Gin. I think it would be funny =)

They were a really fun group. X3

... I think I may have been thinking of Working My Way Back to You being covered in the '70s/'80s, instead of C'mon Marianne. XD; Though I could have sworn someone covered that song, too....

**snerk.** Oh yes!

I think they're one of those groups that have been covered a LOT. They're the fifth top selling recording group of all time, so it stands to reason that a lot of their (admittedly awesome) songs could have been redone by various people in the forty or so years since "Sherry" broke the bank on the record charts ^__^

...I really should put that into [livejournal.com profile] 30_evil_deeds, shouldn't I?

Maybe it's because I'm still in education, but teacher + cute = doesn't make sense to me. don't you mean sexy instead of cute?

I've never understood why so many teachers feel the need to be...frumpy. Like those "kindergarten teacher" sweaters with the apples on them? My mom keeps telling me I need one, and I go ICK. Teachers can look good too!

Well, I'm wearing my favorite red cleavage shirt, but I've got a tank top under it so it's not too risque. I don't know if that qualifies as sexy or not ^^;;

Iuno maybe it's because the youngest teacher I've had was 37 and that was when I was 12. curse all those old teachers when your married with kids that have left education doesn't matter what you wear you just plain can't be cute at that age.

I was kinda joking about the sexiness comment, but that probably would qualify? iuno i'm not too into "sexy

The youngest teacher I can remember having was twenty-seven. There might have been others, though--when I was in elementary and middle school, I didn't really notice. To me, they were all ancient and decrepit XD But I did have one English teacher in high school who was...maybe in her late forties, early fifties? And I coveted her wardrobe. She always looked AWESOME. So...it's possible. Not common, but possible :D

I'm a horrible judge of those things, so I wouldn't know. I don't worry too much about it--I personally find intelligence hot. But I sometimes fear to be in the minority there.

Arn't we all in that minority? Half the time I get attracted to someone it's cuz of there intellect

The reason probably is if teachers looked hot and smexy or cute, the students (especially the 16+ ones) would notice and you know how student X teacher couples are just "EW NO" but then again you hear all these student X student-teacher pairings so for teachers to 'look good' seems to be not a good thing to some people. at least while the teachers at school

Eh I was attracted to someone who wanted to be a teacher once, but then they turned into a right bitch also the reason I don't like dating older people now, anyone born before 85 is too old for me now

Exactly! Good lucks are a bonus--nice if they're there, but not necessary for enjoyment. Which is one reason I love Johnny Depp: he's eye-candy, and he backs it up with TALENT.

That's true--which is why I'm wearing a tank top under this shirt >_>;; Sadly, one of the points they kept repeating to us during student teaching was DON'T DATE STUDENTS. Over and over again...I guess it might be more of a problem then you'd think. We even had pop quizzies: if a student asks you to prom, what do you say? And we all chimed NO.

Ick...that bites D: I think I'd prefer someone not too much older than me--and I was actually born in 1985, I'm twenty-one--for various reasons.

The whole teacher/student thing doesn't really make sense with me. Maybe it's because all my teachers were old and married but all my form tutors where female. HELL I've only had one form tutor (when I was in my last primary years) that was male. Never found any of them attractive, but then again I was always drooling over someone or the other in class anyway untill college. SUCH a skirt chaser xD

So if it is a problem, it's probably something they aim at the under-30's teachers more than anything. That or the male ones you never know when theres a lolipedophile.

Well the girl I really obsess about like was born 11 months after I was, just under a year younger really, she also would rather have someone within a year of her (So she knows how old they are due to her age.. lol) so that works XP I'm 19 incase you didn't notice, just check my info it's on there, as is yours xD. OH GOD IT'S GOING TO BE WEIRD TO SAY 20 IN FIVE MONTHS

Can't argue with you on the marching thing, though. Except I'm glad it wasn't me--I don't take heat well. At best, I would have gotten a heat-induced migraine. At worst...well, I might have dropped DX

See, I'm not sure what will happen when winter sets in. Iowans are used to driving in snow and whatnot, but this is a consolidated district, so the kids are really spread out and most get to and from school by bus. So if it gets messy out...I'm not sure what we'll have for cancellations and late-starts and whatnot. But I'll probably report it here =D

So I'm still somewhat biased XD

I'm not trying to play one-up, but it's reeeeeeally warm here XP Plus, I've heard a couple people say that we're in for rain tonight/tomorrow, which given the humidty...might very well mean another storm *whimpers*

I empathize--I hate the heat as well. If I'm out in it for too long, then...well, at best? Probably a heat-induced migraine. At worst, I drop like a fly. It's baaaaaad... *joins the pouting*

Everyone knows hot is relivent to your advarage temp. if your normally around like 20C then 30C is going to feel hot, you normal 30C then 40C is hot, but before you start going "thats not hot" remember, 30C feels the cold at 10C while 20C feels it at 0!

so if you think they can't take the heat, you probably can't take the cold

b-but.. that's not hot. :( We start late August because the temp starts to drop down to the mid-nineties instead of the 100s.. with 100% humidity.. and we had school anyway in high school when the A/C units broke for weeks on end. We got to open the window and smelter........ I am envious.. 82 feels soooo nice.
