If yesterday was the best day I've had in ages, today is...well, it's not the worst day by any means (that would have been the day before my unit was due in Methods during my last semester of classes at BV, thanks *shudders at memory*) But today didn't get off on a very good note.

Waking up was the first big challenge. I could not get my eyes to open this morning. I couldn't do it. It was awful--good thing I set two alarms. Almost didn't make it out of bed. I'm pretty sure the bags under my eyes right now make me look like a raccoon...that's been hit in the face with a tire iron.

It's an early out today, so our class periods are twenty-two minutes long--we have staff development this afternoon. We're doing curriculum mapping. I'm not a hundred percent sure what exactly that'll entails, but I'm sure it'll be interesting!

Homecoming Week is almost upon us as well. We just found out what the spirit days will be. Monday is Hawaiian Day, Tuesday is Twins Day, Wednesday is Movie Star Day, Thursday is Nerd Day (so can I just come as myself?) and Friday is Black and Gold Day. I really need to find out exactly how Homecoming works so I can get into it. But I'm really excited about Nerd Day 8D

Let's see, what else...the plunnies continue to bite. Hard XD I'm currently working on a present for a certain someone who is going to turn twenty-two years old in a little over a week ^_~ Want to make sure that's done. But I have a few other things done and ready to post, so I'll just keep doing as I have been and post daily for as long as possible \o/ AND I WILL CONTINUE TO TORMENT [livejournal.com profile] jeva_chan WITH THAT FRIENDS FIC WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE POSTED SOMETIME THIS WEEK!! MOO HA HA!!

I now have all of Avatar Book Two. Picked up the last one yesterday. I really need to just sit down with all my DVDs and start watching the series from start to finish. I haven't watched it in a while. But I also noticed that the first DVD of Book Three is coming out on MY twenty-second birthday! End of October, bay-bee!! We'll finally get to see what happens!! *flails liek whoa*

Actually, a ton of stuff I want is coming out at the end of this month and throughout next month. The new Mythbusters DVD set, Ghost Hunters: Season Two, Part I, Ghost Hunters: Live at the Shining Hotel (that was the live Halloween broadcast from last fall), the new Nancy Drew computer game, a Nancy Drew game for Nintendo DS, Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS...needless to say, my paychecks are weeping tears of blood >_>;;

Guess I need to make my birthday/Christmas list. My parents already know a few things I really want--like a crockpot. I really want one of those. There are TONS of recipes for stuff you toss in there and leave to cook all day and then come home and eat. I like that idea :D But it's not remiss of me to ask for a few movies and things that I want, is it? I don't think so.

I know what I'm getting my family for Christmas, too. My parents don't know/care about my LiveJournal, so I can post theirs here. For Dad, I'm going to look for some Four Seasons CDs. I found out that he was a fan back in the day, and I know my parents both like that group, but I don't remember ever seeing any CDs of them at our house. So that's for Dad. For Mom, I'm either thinking a print from her favorite artist or a boxed set from one of her favorite shows--probably either Criminal Minds or Numb3rs. She loves those shows.

For my sister...I talked to her the other day, and I gave her the option. She could either get a birthday gift AND a Christmas gift and have both be a little bit smaller, or she could hold off and I would skip the birthday gift but get her something really nice for Christmas. Because I do have an idea, and it is something I think she wants, but it's a little bit on the expensive side of Sears ~_~

Still working on various pretty things for various pretty people, too 8D

[livejournal.com profile] socchan? The Zen garden you gave me (*GLOMPS~!*) is now set up on my desk at the high school. I love it! *rakes the sand*

I should probably head over to the middle school now. It's almost twenty to eleven as I'm finishing typing this, and they've got choir at a quarter to noon. It's a twenty minute drive over there, and then I need to make some photocopies and get the room set up.

Oh, but before I go...yesterday, I had a moment of weakness. I did something stupid.

I...

...

I bought the Spongebob Squarepants movie.

Like, I exchanged monies for it.

...it was on sale for $7.50? :D? *still fails at life, I'm sure* I saw the movie while I was hanging out in the hotel room before Katie and Tyler's wedding, and...I liked it. It was cute. So...yes. I bought the Spongebob movie v_v

Okay, gotta jet!

To complete the "nerd" look, you need to bring in your laptop. ^_^

Mythbusters! (Hmm, Mythbusters meets Kaitou Kid.)

*snickers* All the teachers have laptops, though. Maybe I should leave my shirt half-untucked and wear calf-high socks with capri pants? *laugh* And maybe I'll have to forgo my contacts for glasses for a day...

I adore Mythbusters! And I don't even want to know what would happen if Kaitou Kid got involved in that...that could be scary...

How does a person look like a "nerd" these days? Is there a stereotypical nerd for this decade?

There would be lots and lots of explosions. And Kid showing them what they thought was busted is plausible.

Yay, glad you like the Zen garden :Db *Zen dance?*

Also, just so you know, I got the DVD burner to work again ♥ And there are two DVDs sitting in front of my computer, labeled "Candy DVD 1" and "Candy DVD 2". *should visit you sometime or something* I, uh accidentally forgot to put Yakitate!! Japan on 'em, but I have that uploaded to MU if you dig through my journal for it? Or I could just burn a third DVD, since I bought a new set. Either way.

Half-days will kill you. There's no way around that. Especially if you're in a school where every teacher thinks it's good to cram an hour-long lesson into a 22-minute time slot. (Either way, student or teacher, half-days will kill you.)

Do your students get to decorate their hallways? That's prob'ly the only thing I miss about Charter, even though it always caused WWI-esque trench divisions among the classes (and your own class - we had a total mutiny last year 'cause of the girl elected to be in charge...). We never got a full-out Spirit Week, though; they only let us have Spirit Day, and you could only go casual if you matched your hallway.

Yay for Christmas lists, though; my Mum's actually started her shopping already. It's kinda weird, 'cause she's never started this early before, but I think my aunt's rubbing off on her. (My aunt is a Christmas genius. She's like Santa in a skirt. xP)
