candyland: (thinking)

I've been thinking a bit. I'm currently a "grown-up," working for a living and earning an actual paycheck and all that fun stuff. Granted, I know that a lot of stuff could very well be in flux for a while, and anything could change, but I'm still thinking...

And I was sort of wondering if it might be fun to save up and do some traveling next summer. Like, go to a con or go visit some people. I love to travel and I love to see new places, and there are some people I want to visit/meet. So I'm sort of putting it under major consideration.

Don't know if it would happen, but...I'm thinking about it ^^ And now I'm going to bed.

I remind myself to do the exactly same thing every year, but somehow, something always comes up and makes me go: Aww, darn, and I wanted to save some money for some traveling!" :O

You gonna visit me? *wiggles eyebrows* XD

Yeah--that's why I'm still keeping it squarely in the "just a thought" category. I'd be able to travel during the summer, and that's about eight months away. A lot can happen in eight months. So I'll wait and see what my money and life situations look like.

Ooooh...I do have a passport, and I've never been to Croatia... ^^

Come visit me! Oregon or San Francisco, fun either way.

And I use college as my excuse to travel, lawl. I'm like "I'm at the perfect age to do this and not worry!" or "I already have someone going to school to visit there so it's somewhere to stay!" xDD

:O That would be neat! 8D I've never been to either San Francisco or Oregon--been to San Diego, though. That was nice to visit, but I'm not sure if I'd want to live there. Too big for me ^_~

*laugh* That's part of my reasoning. I'm twenty-one (will be twenty-two at the earliest this idea could come to fruition), I'm young and single and have no real attachments (i.e. a family or kids or anything like that). And I'm earning a paycheck. AND I have the summers off. It's really a perfect time to jet around a bit and see the sites~!! Just gotta make it work! :D

Yes!!! Definitely! Taking time off and traveling is the best - and you have a profession that will allow you to do that as long as you're okay financially.

Europe, of course, is very expensive now, given the strength of the euro and the dollar being in the toilet; particular the UK, where the pound is more than 2x the dollar (and something that costs $25 here costs 25 pounds there - meaning it's $50). But there are plenty of places to see here, there's Canada, Latin America.

Of course, I'm partial to Brazil - I think it's the best place on earth. :)

Yeah, it's the financial aspect of things that's going to keep this idea up in the air for a while. I know I'll have the time (summer vacation, whoo~!!), but I don't know if I'll have the money.

I wasn't thinking so much of going international as going, say, somewhere in the States to meet some LJ friends, or fly out to Idaho where a couple of my best college buddies live or something like that. Again, all up in the air--would have to talk to people, too ^^;;

I did love Europe when I went, though (Germany and Austria), but I've never been to the UK. Or Brazil XD I need to see more places! My dream is to go to Japan someday, though ^____^

It's awesome to have the time to visit everyone - and cheaper than traveling internationally definitely.

I've never been to Japan but I have a friend who lived there for a few years. He loved it so much he married a Japanese woman and is now living there for good. :)

That's one of the top countries on my list of places to visit before I die (as well as China and Mongolia - Mulan nut, after all). It's supposedly a beautiful country. My friend loves the lifestyle there.

YOU SHOULD DEFINATLY.
You need to get a picture of you, jeva and a tampon in a small towel.

You know it'd be fun to go to a convention, especially if you all save up to go to the same one so you can meet people too.

Don't make me complain that it's £49 for 360 games here

I REALLY WANT TO! And oh lord, that would be the greatest thing EVER!

When I mentioned this idea to [livejournal.com profile] fyliwionvilyaer, that was the first thing she said: AKON AKON AKON!! That's down in Texas, which would be a bit of a jaunt...but I'd get to meet a TON of people, so it would be really cool ^^

Ick...why must games be so expensive?
