So far today has been pretty awesome. I'm waiting to hear back from my loan company if they approved the consolidation with the co-signer (thank you, Mom!), and my principal popped in for observation today and based on his comments he seems to think I'm doing all right \o/

Oh, and it's getting colder here. Like...I wore my winter coat for the first time today XD

And I should really finish that [livejournal.com profile] 30_ways fic...or that [livejournal.com profile] 30_friends fic...and get something posted. It's been a few days and I have a quota to meet!

So here--I give you a meme as ganked from [livejournal.com profile] aishuu!

What do you think are the "trademarks" of the fiction that I write? What type of themes or characterization notes or quirks keep on manifesting in my writing? Essentially, what do you think is a stereotypically "Candyland" way of writing fic?

My choice of icon for this entry was done in the spirit of kidding ^_~

Uhhhh.... D: I don't know how I would say what your trademarks are :/ it would be easier if you did art XD for that's something I know something about... but I can pick your style out from others? if that counts for anything?

The word that springs to mind is frothy, like the foam on a rootbeer float. Your fics tend to be very sweet and light, and relatively straightforward.

I've only read one of yours.

That makes a total of 4 I've read.
Yay me?

Well, I don't really know how to describe your "trademarks"... (you write 'From Candyland' after writing it?? :P)
But somehow, I think I would recognize your story, even if I didn't know, it was written by you.
Your style of writing... is just so recognizeable to me :P

(NOW, WHO DID UNDERSTAND ANYTHING OF THAT, I JUST WROTE??)

I second this. ^^ That is a perfect description of Candy fics! And I will add that IC-ness is another staple.

Hmm...you've given us a hard task to do here! XD

Well, there's just something lighthearted and sweet about your fics. You can write excellent humor and then switch to a more serious/romantic topic without it looking too random and OOC. Your fics are just simply candy-licious! XDD

If that made sense at all... *sweatdrops*

Short, without being unfinished, lightweight, or incomplete. You have a gift for the vignette, for distilling an emotion into a pure, powerful image. What little I've read of your longer fics *you only have one, I believe, in DC fandom* sometimes seems like you're not quite sure what to do with a running plot, but your short works have all the intensity of a trout to the head or a blow to the gut. Whether happy or sad, they're always extremely emotional, and I love that about your work.

OMG, I haven't had time to read your fics in a while. . . .

Anyway, you have a knack for all genres, especially humor. (Go Candy crack!) You can write about the most mundane of things and turn them into masterpieces. (Wish I can do that!) Your fics may be short, but they do a good job of placing the characters in situations we don't see in the anime or read in the manga.

And now for the random stuff I notice about your writing:
1. "[insert number]-point-[insert number]-seconds"
2. You always forget to correct the closing quotion mark after a dash.
3. word...word
4. You genreally use the Japanese names and honorifics, but I've never seen you use "Okaa-san" or "Otou-san."
5. The fondness for smut . . . and fluff.

P.S. If the disclaimer's really hilarious, that fic's got to be yours.

P.S.S. I'll probably gank this meme someday . . . when I write more fics. *sweatdrops*

Argh. Need to change the severely overused damn icon. Keep forgetting...

Yeah, so, trademarks. Hmm. Straightforward, totally. Ironic, very very thoughtful if you want it to be. Descriptive without dragging...and lots and lots of repitition, but hey, we all have our flaws, no? And completely Meitantei Konan drenched. Very nice read. I lurvs the humor fics!
