I'm sure many of you have heard that there's a new Conan live-action drama coming out sometime in the foreseeable future. And it will feature Conan, Shinichi, Ran, Kogoro, Sherry/Ai, and our favorite bad boys from the Black Org.

I, of course, am quite eager to see Gin's hair. This should surprise no one.

However, there is one little detail that...well, I'm sort of goggling at it. And that is regarding the synopsis description of how they get Conan back to Shinichi. And...well...



He eats cake.

And it turns him back.

Which prompted magic_truth to ask if it was a rum cake.

And me to make the obvious joke (which she totally left herself open for) and say, "Oh...so THAT'S why the rum's gone."

Ready the firing squad, I'm sure.



...on the one hand, I think this almost sounds absurd and utterly ridiculous enough to come out on the other end and be a weird sort of awesome. Ya know, sort of like Bloody Pit of Horror.

On the other hand, I think it sounds like a BAD FANFIC.

Ultimately, I will reserve judgment until I have seen this strange and unusual creature.

...BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE A BLEEPIN' FANFIC!!

Yup. It's from the new live-action plot summary. It sounds like a bad fanfic. I'm hoping that it does manage to come out on the other end and wrangle some sort of awesomeness. But...I'm very, very wary ~_~;;

Conan goes to the party with a cold, eats the rum/sake/paikal (?)/Kahlua cake and turns back. Someone dies and he solves the case. Then Shin/Ran drama ahoy. Because that's just how they do :D.

Otherwise, your analysis sounds absolutely correct. Particularly the Shin/Ran drama. But...if Gin and Co. are there...he'd have to keep a low profile, else they find out he's *gasp* STILL ALIVE.

Yeah! And no Heiji to save his butt. Unless they throw in a random Kaitou KID (AGAIN) to distract the BO so Shinichi can sneak away and shrink back to Conan-form. But they really wouldn't do that, would they?

I know! It sounds crazy--just crazy enough to be awesome. I don't know. But I'm definitely going to have to give this a watch and see what happens XD

I made the mistake of reading it at work. It hard to allow yourself to be properly sad at work (otherwise, no work gets done).

Umm... *whispers* Torrents are my friends ^^;; The drama will be released, and then it's a matter of waiting until one of the groups subs it. Then--torrent ahoy! And then watch it. And probably laugh.

I know. I'm trying to hold out hope for Gin (and his Blonde Hair of Evil), but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it's probably going to come out looking mighty silly. Which is sad-making ;o; Because I gotta admit that I LOVE Gin's hair. As most people who read this probably know. I'm writing an entire series of fics about it.

And yes. Eating cake. I thought the first drama had a good mystery and some decent moments. But overall...it was sort of cartoony. And not in the good "anime" way, but in the "Looney Tunes" way.
