Had an "Eww" moment this morning... XD
Oct. 27th, 2007 11:03 pmMy big accomplishment today was cleaning out the fridge this morning. Yes, this is how sad my life truly is.
So...those of you who have fridges...have you ever had it happen where you put something in a container and stick it in the fridge, and it winds up getting shoved to the very back of the fridge on a lower shelf behind a bunch of other stuff so you can't see it? And then when you do find it again, a lot of time has gone by?
I know it happened on occasion at our house. Please tell me we're not freaks of nature o_o
But anyway, I found one of those when I was cleaning out the fridge--and by cleaning out, I mean there were a couple of things in there that were past their due dates and a few leftovers that were probably past the point of safe consumption, and I was removing them.
It was brown gravy. Except when I found it and opened it...it was sort of solid-ish, and had this really lovely white and pink fuzz growing on it. Kid you not--the mold was pink. So I yanked my T-shirt collar up over my nose, dumped it into the garbage can, and tossed the container into the sink to soak in hot soapy water for the rest of the day. Well, the water's probably cold by now...but you know what I mean!
Otherwise...today I finished knitting another pretty--this one for
ammchan. It didn't come out exactly as I'd thought it would, but I think it still looks pretty cool. Hope she likes it :S And I wrote three fics, two of which are posted and linked at the bottom of this entry ^_~ I'm currently sprawled in my comfy pink chair with my keyboard in my lap and a bowl of Oreo fluff on the desk. Bliss ~♥♥♥
Tomorrow's plan is to do laundry and just do a general pick-up around here. But at the moment? Life is good, definitely good :D

Date: 2007-10-28 04:14 am (UTC)No, you're not a freak of nature. There's things in my fridge that could probably stand up and walk out, that's how 'ripe' they are.

Date: 2007-10-28 04:53 pm (UTC)...that reminds me of a birthday card I saw once *laugh*
Front: "For your birthday, I decided to make you a cake using only things found in my refrigerator!"
Inside: It's walking over to your house right now.

Date: 2007-10-28 04:54 pm (UTC)Oh wow--I remember when they put new carpet in our basement. They were there at seven AM to do it, so we were up at six to move the rest of the furniture out of the rooms. It was HELL D:

...does anyone else remember that old Garfield and Friends episode? "The Monster That Lived in the Refrigerator Behind the Mayonnaise, Next to the Ketchup, and to the Left of the Coleslaw"? Best Garfield episode ever :D
