My big accomplishment today was cleaning out the fridge this morning. Yes, this is how sad my life truly is.

So...those of you who have fridges...have you ever had it happen where you put something in a container and stick it in the fridge, and it winds up getting shoved to the very back of the fridge on a lower shelf behind a bunch of other stuff so you can't see it? And then when you do find it again, a lot of time has gone by?

I know it happened on occasion at our house. Please tell me we're not freaks of nature o_o

But anyway, I found one of those when I was cleaning out the fridge--and by cleaning out, I mean there were a couple of things in there that were past their due dates and a few leftovers that were probably past the point of safe consumption, and I was removing them.

It was brown gravy. Except when I found it and opened it...it was sort of solid-ish, and had this really lovely white and pink fuzz growing on it. Kid you not--the mold was pink. So I yanked my T-shirt collar up over my nose, dumped it into the garbage can, and tossed the container into the sink to soak in hot soapy water for the rest of the day. Well, the water's probably cold by now...but you know what I mean!

Otherwise...today I finished knitting another pretty--this one for [livejournal.com profile] ammchan. It didn't come out exactly as I'd thought it would, but I think it still looks pretty cool. Hope she likes it :S And I wrote three fics, two of which are posted and linked at the bottom of this entry ^_~ I'm currently sprawled in my comfy pink chair with my keyboard in my lap and a bowl of Oreo fluff on the desk. Bliss ~♥♥♥

Tomorrow's plan is to do laundry and just do a general pick-up around here. But at the moment? Life is good, definitely good :D

Hi, [profile] candy__chan! I haven't been around in awhile, but now I'm back.

No, you're not a freak of nature. There's things in my fridge that could probably stand up and walk out, that's how 'ripe' they are.

Hey, welcome back! I noticed you hadn't been around much lately *glomps*

...that reminds me of a birthday card I saw once *laugh*

Front: "For your birthday, I decided to make you a cake using only things found in my refrigerator!"
Inside: It's walking over to your house right now.

I never have that... mostly because the fridge tends to get pretty empty near the end of the weak, actually having to have a take-away meal on friday because theres litrally nothing to make a full meal out of in there.

ALSO, there was hell here today... replaced the carpet.. took the better half of 6 hours.

Ah...I know that feeling as well ~_~

Oh wow--I remember when they put new carpet in our basement. They were there at seven AM to do it, so we were up at six to move the rest of the furniture out of the rooms. It was HELL D:

Please tell me you poured some bleach into the soapy container. And don't worry, small amounts of bleach won't kill you (most franchise restaurants use low levels of bleach to sanitize their dishes). Just a teaspoon of bleach + hot water to soak, and then scrub it out with soap and as hot as you can stand water. I'm looking out for your best interest! I don't want you to consume mold remnants!

I just finished cleaning out my fridge too! So much empty room now, and a lot of tupperware thrown out that couldn't be saved ;_;

OH! There's something weird in the fridge today, I don't know what it is.... Food I can't recognize.... My roommate won't throw a thing away, I guess it's probably his.... It looks like it's alive ... and living in the fridge!

XD I think Weird Al would say that you're not a freak of nature. LOL. **loves the song Living in the Fridge.** Wanna hear it?

**can relate to the song all too well, unfortunately!**

I'm not familiar with that song! :O I'd love to hear it, though!

...does anyone else remember that old Garfield and Friends episode? "The Monster That Lived in the Refrigerator Behind the Mayonnaise, Next to the Ketchup, and to the Left of the Coleslaw"? Best Garfield episode ever :D

It was pink and you didn't take a picture? T_T I enjoy looking at pictures of funny colored mold. But, yes, stuff does get shoved back and forgotten. I'm scared to open some of the containers in the fridge.
