Some Thanksgiving babble~
Nov. 9th, 2007 10:51 am...okay, so I didn't get the fic typed and/or posted last night, and I apologize. I got sidetracked with doing other things (read that as "watching Mythbusters and working on pretty things for people") and didn't get it done. But I'll post it tonight! And I'm also almost done with another one, so that'll probably go up tomorrow ^_^
High school choir today was pretty awesome :D It would have been funny if my principal had walked in--he would have seen the entire choir sprawled on their backs on the floor *laugh* It's actually a valid singing practice technique, though. When you're laying down, your back is straight, your head is in a natural position, and your breathing is naturally correct. Therefore, it is almost the ideal singing posture. And the sound did improve.
I am so happy that it's Friday today. You have no IDEA how happy I am. I'm just tired x_x And the weekend will give me the chance to get a LOT of stuff done. Unless I get lazy. That has a sad tendency to happen *hangs head*
I'm also starting a countdown to Thanksgiving. Here's how it's shaping up for me: on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) we have an one o'clock early out at school. Then we have staff development scheduled from one to two. I am planning to get my apartment all cleaned up on Monday, and then have everything packed and in my car on Tuesday night--also going to get gas on Tuesday. So on Wednesday, as soon as they say "Have a good weekend," I am on the road heading for Mom and Dad's house. It's a four hour drive, so that'll put me home around six-ish, depending on the traffic in Des Moines.
Man...can't wait for Thanksgiving weekend. I talked to Mom last night about what we're having for dinner and whatnot. I'm spending Thursday with my family, and then on Friday Mom said she's going to try and leave work early so she can come home--since I'm on my own and Little Sister is at college, it's now fairly rare for us to all be home at the same time, so she wants to spend some time with us :) And I know we're doing birthday celebrations sometime during the weekend, too.
...I'm hungry. And I feel like I have a ton to do, but I don't exactly know what.
DON'T FORGET THE CHRISTMAS CARD POST HERE!

Date: 2007-11-09 06:12 pm (UTC)I'd love to have a Thanksgiving dinner once in my life, we don't have anything of that kind here. The only tradition that my family started a few years before my brother and I left home was to buy or make an onion pie, served with Federweißer, a very young and sweet white wine you can only buy for a short time at that time of the year. And I don't even know whether we ate that on Thanksgiving or any other day! *g*
Unfortunately, Federweißer seems to be a german specialty, I've seen any in France yet, and I'm never home for the Federweißer season now.;_;
Happy Weekend!♥ *throws a party*
