Kid: *talking with reporters* First news broadcasters. Then Oprah. Then...the WORLD!

*Kid vanishes and the guards show up*
Me: ♫Here come the men in black...♪

*Kid reappears on the roof up above the city, his cape billowing dramatically*
Me: ♪The Phaaaaaaaaantom of the Opera is here...♫

Bottom panel on page ten:
Me: OHMIGOD SO CUTE MUST HAVE ICON WANT WANT WANT!!

Mental translation for page 11:
*A projectile flies by and knocks Kid's monocle off*
Kid: *glaring back towards the crowd* My face--how dare he scratch my beautiful face! *realizes who it is and smirks* I'm totally getting my fangirl army together and coming for you, shorty.

Good thing that didn't happen while he was chatting with the reporters. Also sincerely hoping that no cameras got a good shot of him flying away.

... ♫You've been hit by--you've been struck by--a smooth criminal♪ ...or a soccer ball.

jeva_chan asked me if I thought Conan was seriously trying to hit Kid when he kicked the ball at him--would he really want Kid to fall from that height? It would kill him. I said, "I think it might be more a matter of sending Kid a little warning. That warning being "CHIBI TANTEI NOT AMUSED!" Jeva added, "More like 'I CAN HAS UNDERSTANDING OF UR TRICKS SOON'"

Me: *sees handprint on Kid's cape* That's gonna be impossible to get out--silk's a bitch to clean. Bet his mommy's going to be maaaaaaaaaaaad.

Last panel on the last page:
Conan: ...I can has confused faise naow?

ETA: Another observation--at the end of this file (the last page), we have Kid's little news interview playing on a TV screen. They have it on tape. On this tape, we can see approximately eighty-five to ninety percent of Kid's face, up close and personal...AND NAKAMORI-KEIBU, WHO IS STANDING RIGHT THERE, DOES NOT RECOGNIZE HIM. DOES NOT COMPUTE.

jeva_chan says that by the time they try to review the footage post-heist, it will be gone xD



I feel a little better now. Still stressing about stuff, but...that did cheer me up XD

I'm personally still all for the fact that I'm surprised Sonoko at least didn't say "Hey KID looks like your BF Ran!!!!" XDXDXD that close... ('course Kaito's better looking thn Shinichi... Shinichi's got that annoying know it all smug expression... Kaito's got that tricky amused expression ^^;;

*snickers* I would say that Kaito's got a fairly smug smirk himself, missy. To be honest, the only differences I see between them are the hairstyles (messy vs. neat) and which side of the law they walk on ^_~

If people realised that his Monocle was shot off and landed on the ground somewhere... And a Kid Fan found it, how much do you think it would sell for on E-bay? (okay, yes, part of that is because m'kinda sitting here going 'but i wannnnnnt itttttt')

How much do you think those 'One Two Three' cards would sell for?

Hmm... that might make an interesting fic... a collector of Kaitou Kid memorabilia... Now they want the Kid?

[Edit: Just took a closer look on Page 10. You can see the handprint in first panel where he shows the shoes, the panel where the crowd gasps because he's falling, and again, the downwards view of the glider flying over the nets.
... Looking at it from the TV shot at the end and the First Panel, I would have thought that handprint would have been closer to the edge of the cape. Also, the angle on it is funny.

Also? On the cover page? Conan is -blushing-. Hahahahaha.]

(Hasn't there already been some on Ebay to give a good first estimate? XD Just multiply by one hundred?)

The Kid Monocles on E-bay sell for between $50-120 USD, from what I've seen. @_@

I'm sure there would be some eager fan out there who would buy it. But do you think Kid would keep an eye on things like that? Fanon says that he keeps a close eye on people who want to cash in on his image... *ponders*

Wasn't there an episode of the Powerpuff Girls like that? Creepy...some fan goes all Collector on him...do you think they would remove the monocle and learn his identity? Or would they leave it as part of the "mystique"?

...WHY is there a handprint on the cape? I mean yes the guy grabbed him, but is it some sort of tracking thing or did the guy just not wash his hands?!

We're talking about the animated world where a girl with the exact same hairstyle, eyes, face, etc can get away/become unrecognizable with a costume change and a few sparkly accessories on their hair.

It's also the world where a nerd can take off his glasses, shoot off into the sky, and people will go 'Jimmy can't be Captain Wonder; Captain Wonder has no glasses!'
