Had a fun choir rehearsal this morning and was well on my way to getting stuff done at school today...when I looked up and realized that *gasp* the weather forecast had come true! And there was tiny white cold thingies falling out of the sky!
All over my car. And the roads. Snow EVERYWHERE.
Put it this way: they essentially got the middle schoolers out of there early. Twenty-five minutes before the end of the day, they called for one group of bus kids. We pretty much had all the kids on their buses in record time and gone about ten minutes before the actual end of the day, and then all the teachers were free to go immediately--contract usually has us there until a quarter to four. I was on the road around five to two.
It's usually a twenty-minute drive. Took almost twice as long--I walked into my apartment at twenty-five after three. I was inching down the highway at thirty miles per hour in a fifty-five zone. Visibility was AWFUL.
But now I'm home safely. I tossed some chicken broth in the crockpot to make chicken noodle soup, and I've got some garlic bread to make with it. I think it's a perfect night for such a meal, yes? And I'm intending to relax all evening and watch the snow fall. And maybe watch a movie and write some ficcage ^_^
And now a random question: what is your favorite Jelly Belly flavor? Mine is juicy pear! :D

Jelly Belly holds a special place in my heart because I live nearby it (well, 30 minute drive is close here in the Bay Area), and when I was in 3rd grade we had a field trip there. The tours are free and they let you walk around the factory and they even gave us samples by the handful.

Date: 2007-12-09 03:01 am (UTC)When I was in high school, I used to get those jelly beans from a candy store at the mall (which has since closed) and take them on marching band trips with me. And all my guy friends would eat them. I'm sure my parents still remember that all a boy really wants from a girl is her jelly beans ^_~
