IM Spam...

Run home to grab an envelope I forgot (with the intention of dropping the bill in the mail on my way to the middle school), pause to check my computer, and find I have these IMs from a person I've never seen or heard of before.

bigplateoftacos (8:20:12 AM): to find and replace through multiple files
bigplateoftacos (9:05:40 AM): oh house youve really done it this time
bigplateoftacos (10:44:27 AM): FUCK YOU IM BLOCKIGN YOU YOU NEVER SAY ANYTHING IMPORTANT
bigplateoftacos (10:51:11 AM): thats about it
bigplateoftacos (11:53:42 AM): POLAND



A quick Google search turned up at least one other reference to this person and the fact that this person was freaking someone out. So...I have no idea. I simply replied with "I'm afraid you have me confused with someone else" and hit "Block." So that's the end of that.

Anyway, I've been writing like crazy lately--mostly on 30_evil_deeds, of all things. I currently am up to number twenty in terms of ideas, and I think I have...up to number eighteen written. I also have the next ten fandoms plunnied for on 100fandomhell.

I'm sort of thinking I might get to #60 on fanfic100 (four more fics), and then set that aside for a little while to finish Evil Deeds and get more done on Fandom Hell. My goal for the first year is to get to at least thirty-five fandoms. I'm at fifteen, and have the ideas to get me through twenty-five. I officially joined on August 29th, started posting on November 2nd. We'll see how it goes ^_~

I know. I'd heard of these kinds of messages, but I've never gotten one myself. Wonder how the person reacted to my response--I didn't give them a chance to reply.

How does someone IM you if you haven't agreed to let them? Is AOL not as strict about that as MSN is?

On AIM, if the person isn't on your BL, it'll ask if you want to accept the message or not. So it's a little less strict than MSN, which tells you when you've been added and offers you the option of letting them see you online, etc.

Since I've had quite a few people IM me from ff-dot-net and LJ, I usually accept unless it looks like something questionable. And those were the messages I'd gotten--left all night and into the afternoon. They were really spread out, which baffles me even more.
