Regarding the weather...
Feb. 26th, 2008 07:40 amWhen I'm right, I'm right. SNOW DAY! Now what to do with my day off... *BRICKED*
Honestly, I'm a little bit baffled about this. I guess the storm moved differently than they thought it would, and so we didn't get nearly as much snow as they'd predicted. Like...maybe an inch. So when I got the call at a quarter after five in the morning about the two-hour late start, I thought, "Okay, that makes sense. Give 'em time to clear off the roads."
Or rather, given that it was, in fact, a quarter after five in the morning, I guess my thoughts were more, "Moar sleepies nao...zzzZZZzzz..." Let it never be said that I am a morning person.
And then the call just came regarding the snow day. The only thing I can think of is that I hear the wind blowing outside, and if it's that bad here in town, it's probably ten times worse out on the country roads. That's usually why we have snow days--the country roads get really bad.
Or we got eight inches of snow dumped on us. That'll do it too.
This brings us up to eight snow days so far this year. And most of those have been in clusters of two *waves I LOVE IOWA flag* I know I'm probably a rare breed for my age, but I do love my home-state. Well, it's not my home-state per se--I was born in Massachusetts, but I've lived in Iowa since kindergarten.
...oh well *picks up knitting and pops in a movie* Should try to write later. Lurker Day is in less than a week ^^;; I really do have a lot of stuff to do to keep me occupied during my snow day :D And also, a nap would not displease the Candy. Simple pleasures for simple minds and all that.
Oh, and
writergurl! I sent you an LJ PM with my snail mail address! Do I have yours? *really needs to get an address book* Left my stationary on my desk at school, though, so no letter-writing today *sadface*
Note to self: drop off rent check tomorrow.
