Doing okay~

candylandFeeling better now--amazing what a nice dinner with one's mother and a full night's sleep can do. I've also ascertained that there's another reason I was so emotional last night *grumbles unkind things about being female* Blaaaaaaaaah...
Mom didn't get here until closer to eight. And she got LOST. In this town. Let me explain--this is one of those towns where if you blink, you might miss it. We don't have a single stoplight here in town. And she couldn't find my apartment. So she called me. I went out on the sidewalk and stood and waved. She didn't see me until she had almost passed me XD ILU, MOMMY!
We went to Applebee's and had a nice dinner and good conversation, and then when we got home we kicked back and chatted for a while. I also got a present for Easter--canisters! Like, the kind of thing you put flour and sugar in. Yes, this is a happy thing because I asked for them \o/ YAAAAAY!! Mom crashed on the couch, and I took a shower and went to bed.
I realized how long I've been living alone when I was jolted awake by the sound of water crashing through the pipes around six AM. I was halfway out of bed in a panic when I remember, "Oh. Mom here. No worry. ZZZzzzZZZzzz..." Went back to sleep until my alarm went off. She left around seven AM for her conference. Was nice to see her and hang out--will see them again on Saturday, when we meet in Des Moines.
Today is busy--we have an early out because it's the end of the quarter, and then there's staff development in the afternoon. And then tonight is the variety show. The jazz band is performing, and then there's a bunch of different acts.
Tomorrow there's no school, so I'm plotting to go down to the courthouse/DoT in Oskie and get my car registered and get registered to vote. I also will not be on LJ...probably from here until Saturday. Whatever difference the strike does/doesn't make, I'm just abstaining for it from a couple days.
