Been a while~

I took a weekend hiatus from LJ--from Thursday until today. Yesterday was the first time I checked my f-list all weekend. I hadn't realized just how much time I spent on this site until I took that break. Every time I got a little bored, the first thought to flicker through my head was "I'll go check my f-list!" But I didn't, and I rather enjoyed the break. I think I needed it ~_~;;
So what did I do instead? Well, I replayed through Luigi's Mansion on GameCube, and am currently almost through the Hidden Mansion. It's such an easy, silly game, but I do love it. I also went into town and got my car registered in this county and got registered to vote here--did that on Friday.
On Saturday I went to hang out with the folks and the sister in Des Moines. We went to the Iowa Science Center. It's actually a place intended for younger kids, but it was still surprisingly fun. We went around and looked at the exhibits, and watched some of their presentations. It was basically the best of all my high school science classes rolled into one. I got a little electric shock during one of them *laugh*
They revved up a Tesla generator as well, which basically made lightning dance through the air. It was so cool! But there was one little girl in the audience who didn't like that. Poor thing was so scared. The entire audience kind of aww-ed...which turned to muffled laughter when her parents were picking her up to leave, and she pointed at the door and cried, "TAKE ME THAT WAY!" So cute *gg* But all around, it was just a fun time. I know it was targeted at younger kids, but hey, sometimes it's nice to just goof off now and again.
After the museum, we went to this restaurant called Bennington's. We'd never been there, but it was a really nice little place. Our waitress was awesome, too--she wound up standing and chatting with us for a while. And I got to try a monte cristo sandwich for the first time. I told Mom and Dad that we must go there again so I may have it again \o/ YUMMY! If you've never had one, it's a turkey, ham, and cheese sandwich, battered and fried and served sprinkled with powdered sugar and a little dish of jelly. Reeeeeeeally good!
Then I got lost on the way home. Had to backtrack about ten miles to find the right road. Whoops ^^;; Thanks,
magicbulletgirl, for keeping me company on the phone! *showers you with love and lots of pretty blue herbs*
Yesterday I...did absolutely nothing. Okay, I actually was going to do laundry, but the washer in our building broke. So I'm hoping they fix it before I run out of clothes--I can make it a few more days. I just really don't want to have to go find a laundromat >_>;;
And now we're back in school, the first of our snow make-up days. I need to do grades, as they are due tomorrow. I figure I'll do my high school grades today and my middle school grades tomorrow. Won't take long.
I'm hoping to post some ficcage tonight as well. Got the next two fandoms for
100fandomhell done, as well as more stuff for
fanfic100. It's sort of scary, but...I'm approaching my seventieth fic on that challenge. I'm hoping to finish it (at the latest) by Lurker Day in September, which will mark exactly two years since I started it. I have NO IDEA what to write for the last fic in the challenge, either. I'd want it to be something epic, but I don't know what :S
Also,
clover_magic has corrupted me *hates with love* :D
