One hurdle jumped...

I THINK YOU ALL WANT TO WORSHIP MY ICON, OH YES YOU DO.

I turned in my letter this morning. I'm...not quite as broken up about it all as I was last week when this decision was reached. When I talked to Mom last night, she even commented that I didn't seem as upset as I was when I called her on Friday.

To be honest, I tried to like it out here. I really did. But the fact is that I'm too far away. I've lived in the same city since third grade, and even while I was in college (an hour away from SC), that city was home. Then I got plunked down four hours away, and...I just didn't adjust well. I'm away from my family and my friends--my support system. So when things go wrong, I don't have anyone to call up and say, "Let's go get burgers and then wander around Best Buy for two hours and be goofy!" So...I think this will be for the best.

Of course, now I'm back on the job hunt. Which is sort of BOO-HISS. But I shall manage one way or the other. Que sera, sera and all that...

Otherwise...I need to get stuff typed. I have three stories in my notebook, sitting and waiting to be typed and posted. I'm just being lazy about it XD Need to get back on that so I can finish stuff up. Quick tally of completion, just to see where I stand...

30_evil_deeds: 25/30

100fandomhell: 27/100

...getting there, getting there. Also have various little one-shots and things to toss up. Will finish those drabble requests ASAP--I think I have four or five left to do. Most of them will eventually be moved over to candyfics. Whether or not they're in a challenge, I don't know yet. Most of them...probably not.

And I need to play more Phoenix Wright. I'm starting to ship characters that I haven't even seen yet. CURSE YOU, FANDOM. I also need to read the rest of Chrno Crusade. I was almost halfway done when I stopped. It's an interesting series, and I do like the characters~

ooh, you've read chrno crusade? :o haha, i've read like the first 3 mangas, but i have watched the entire series. in fact, i have downloaded copies of the entire series. it was my brother's bday gift to me a few years back. XP haha, it's absolutely adorable, although it's really sad. tell me when you finish it. XD

Good luck with the job search this summer. I'm sorry this one didn't work out; you seemed to really like the kids and the job a lot. But I can understand how difficult it can be trying to handle a new job while being so far from friends and family, and feeling completely isolated. It sounds like you made the right choice for your own well-being.

Oooh Chrno Crusade. I watched/read that a long time ago, but never got to read the last few chapters or so. I wonder if they're all scanslated now.. The anime was really sad ;;; I was bawling through the last ep, and I think the manga'll make me too XD; I looove chibi!Chrno. He is so cute *Q* And big!Chrno is hot toooo. And I also love Aion. :D!

Yeah, it is hard to move from a place you've lived you entire life. Been there, done that, didn't have the option to move back, and now I can't see myself living any place at all except where I've visited (and I've been to a lot of states). ^^;

Not really. I was 10. It was one of the hardest things ever for me. It was exciting at first but then I found that I could not make any close friends (or many friends, period). And I missed my best friend terribly. Life is divided according to that move. North Dakota and Texas (with Texas having a few subdivisions thanks going off to college 9 hours away).

Ohh...see, we moved to the place I call my hometown when I was in kindergarten. We moved to a different house, but that city was home from kindergarten through college. Plus, even while I was in college I wasn't that far away, and I could see my friends on breaks or weekends at home. In some ways, that was my saving grace during student teaching ~_~ Guess we'll see what happens.

I totally understand you moving back to be close to your family. I've always envied the close relationship you have with your parents. I'm still kinda bouncing around trying to find a place that feels like home. Interestingly enough, BV felt like home for a very long time, but I don't see myself settling down in NW Iowa at this point. We'll see in a few years if I change my mind.

PS. tell your parents hi for me the next time you talk to them.
