candyland: (my hat is awesome)

This morning, we got on a train (!!!) and went to Chicago. Yes, I'm that bouncy about the train ride--haven't been on a train since Europe. Awesomely relaxing ride. I played my DS and poked Rasgos. We wandered around the city for a while, did a little shopping, had a bite to eat, and came back to her house. We also went to Fry's Electronics. I now own Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. I shall play it once I finish the other games XD I also got a new back massager, as my old one decided that it wanted to die ;o;

...in short, for a fair amount of today, I wandered around in the cold rain and played Pokemon, both with a friend. I consider it a day well spent.

Then we went to a movie. If you haven't seen Horton Hears a Who, you need to do so. IMMEDIATELY. Oh my stars, it's absolutely delightful! (And Carol Burnett voices the Kangaroo, which doubles the awesome because Carol Burnett is unto a god.) The Mayor's son prompted several comments about Linkin Part and "Cheer up, emo kid." He was GOTH *laugh*

Favorite moment was easily when they dropped a soundproof glass around the Council and the Mayor, and he's getting chewed out, chased, throttled...and then there's a silent moment where the councilman is using a pointer and gesturing first to the Mayor, and then to what appears to be a picture of a donkey's rear end. You do the math. I WANT AN ICON OF THAT ^______^ Also, I approve of anything that uses the word "boob" in copious amounts. Which this did.

Also, if you are ever in Chicago, go to Hollywood Blvd. I think it might be one of my new favorite places. The lobby is decorated with Chinese sculptures and dragons and the like, and the theatre we were in was all done up with ancient Egyptian things--I have been a huge nerd for all things ancient Egyptian since I was little and saw a picture of the pyramids. Sort of a hobby of mine ^^ The waiters come around while you're sitting in your EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE seat and take your order, and serve you dinner while you watch the movie. I had the Chevy Cheeseburger...om nom nom! :D

Now we're just hanging out. She's playing Tales of the Abyss...and I'm watching XD I'm pretty sure I want to punch Luke in the face. I think I liked Guy...for the ten seconds he was on-screen. Fear of women = comic gold, in my sad little mind z(^o^)b Not sure how much farther we'll get in the game, as I'm already nodding off ^^;;

Tomorrow I drive back to my apartment...and then back to school xD If I've missed anything major or crucial on the ol' f-list, let me know ^^;; I'll try to catch up. Otherwise, I will return to my regular schedule of annoying many of you \o/

\o/ Yay! Apollo Justice get!

Yeah, Luke is a total shithead in the beginning. 8D Still, stuff happens later on that puts everything into perspective, and he has a massive amount of character development all throughout the game. Actually, to be honest, he's the first "Tales of" main character that I really came to like. =)

YES! I can't wait to get to playing it \o/

*laugh* I'd certain hope he goes through some character development. Otherwise, I doubt I'd be able to stand him for the entire game ~_~;;

I wonder what your reaction to Klavier will be... ;) A friend of mine can't stop blushing everytime he's on the screen. LOL!

Well, I don't want to spoil ToA for you or anything, but when everything is put into a perspective you wouldn't have expected, his entire behavior makes a shitload of sense (to the point of being a point of sympathy). I have a feeling you'd probably like him by then. ;)

Judging by what I've seen in pictures, etc., I think I'm going to like him. Hmm...German... ♥♥♥

Maybe I'll get to finish playing it at some point XD I dunno. It's at Rasgos' house. I do like character development, though~ *gg*

I loved that scene, too! If you go on the website, they actually have a still of that part up (it's in the Whoville section, I think).
When I was trying to convince my friend to come see it with me, I listed off the voice cast, and when I got to Carol Burnett, she had no clue who she was. My first thought when I heard that was, "If you don't know who Carol Burnett is, I don't think I can help you." (I didn't say that, though.)

:O I will check that out! \o/

...not knowing who Carol Burnett is? That ranks right up there with one of my students hearing me comment about Frank Sinatra (regarding the song "Fly Me to the Moon"), and saying, "Who's Frank Sinatra?" Imagine my shock when I realized that the kid wasn't kidding ~_~;;
