It's the weekend!

We finished Phantom of the Opera at the middle school today, and wound up having a really awesome discussion about it. I think the Snickers bars I was giving for good answers were a perk, but once they got into it, they didn't even seem to be thinking about the candy :D And they seemed really shocked that the chandelier does fall in the stage show. I think most thought that to be a movie invention ^_~

On Monday, we're going to do some listening--comparing the original Broadway cast with the movie soundtrack, and I think on Wednesday we're going to play the Flyswatter game, and then we'll probably be done with Phantom. I think we'll move onto Newsies next :D

I need to spot-clean a little this weekend--got a notice from my landlady that a prospective buyer (!!!) is coming through on Monday. And she said she'd like things to be in good order. So I'm going to tidy up, take the trash out, maybe vacuum a bit. Nothing too intense. Will probably move the boxes down to my storage closet.

Aaaaaand Sunday is Mommy Day! I'm going to go meet my parents...probably in Ames to have a meal and get boxes for the move. I'm going to give Mom her present and card then--which is nice because I can see her open it \o/

On [livejournal.com profile] summerwrite...I BROKE TWENTY THOUSAND WORDS! *dances around* I finished the new one-shot linked on Ye Olde Fic Blog, and I'm a few scenes away from finishing both the last chapter of TNW AND the next chapter of SoW (i.e. my main project). There should be some posts in the next couple of days. I'm sort of unrealistically hoping to hit 30K by Wednesday, but we'll see where that goes.

And finally, the fourth episode of Daughter of Twenty Faces is now out subbed. I might have to stare at it for a while. *crosses fingers and hopes for more Evil!Chiko*

We used to play it in Spanish class when I was in high school--put a grid on the overhead with different answers, and give one person from each team a flyswatter. Have 'em stand with their backs to the screen. Read off the clue, and they have to whip around and find the right answer on the screen and hit it with the flyswatter.

It's really fun! :D
