Off SW hiatus!

Well, taking a few days off from summerwrite obviously does a body good, as I came back today and cranked out just over 3500 words over a few different projects, finishing two things (pimped linked at the bottom of this entry, like usual). Feeling pretty good. Will be toppling the fifty thousand word mark.

I also realized that I've got a backlog of some stuff I haven't posted to ff-dot-net yet. And yes, I do post pretty much everything there *shrug* But several things I've written for either 100fandomhell and Professor Layton (WHICH STILL HAS NO CATEGORY, WOES~) need to get tossed up there, just...because ^^;;

2. Explain what it means: I've been Candyland for years online, so when I signed up for LJ, I figured I'd go with that. Had to experiment a little bit before this one worked.

3. Explain how you picked / why you selected the user picture(s): My default icon is for my handle. The rest are either for fandoms, movies, or games that I enjoy, or they're things I saw that just amused me. Every once in a while I go through and cycle out the ones I don't use so much. I kinda want more Layton icons :S

5. Why do you have a Journal page?: To talk about real life, fandom...whatever floats my boat, really. It's my venting spot and the dumping ground for my thoughts, as well as my favorite online hangout.

6. Why did you pick LiveJournal (LJ) over another service or handwriting?: I actually have accounts on both IJ and JF, but I initally joined LJ because a friend told me I should so I could join the community for a pairing we were both into at the time.

7. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are?: I'm going to say maybe around a 7-8. There's some stuff under f-lock that shows a few things the world at large does not get to see.


8. How do you think your LJ represents you the most?: A lot of fandom babble.

9. How much about your life do you post to LJ?: A fair amount--depends on what's going on.

10. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?: Half the time I don't know how anyone can stand to read it, it's so boring! Other times we have some fun on here, so...I'll say maybe a 6?

11. From who/how did you find out about LJ?: kyteaura, for a reason stated above.

12. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you?: Yup! Some friends from college...most of whom no longer use their accounts *sigh* Missing out, guys... ^_~

13. How long have you been a member of LJ?: Joined up with this account on 2/11/2004, and started my writing journal (candyfics) in April of 2007.

14. How often do you post to LJ?: Daily. Even when I have nothing to say. Hence, the snooze factor.

15. What proportion of your posts are friends?: Hmm...depends on what's going on in my life and how serious the matter is. I'd probably say one in ten...ish?

16. What is your favorite interest on LJ?: I'm going to say fanfiction, if only because it's what I spend a lot of my online time doing.

17. What is your favorite community on LJ?: Oh geez, ask a tough question, why dontcha? Again, this cycles through, but at the moment I am hooked on summerwrite and professorlayton. I also enjoy 100fandomhell :D

18. Have you ever learned anything new on LJ?: I'm sure I have.

19. Has anything on LJ ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?: Nothing comes to mind, but I know I've been very deeply affected by some things that have happened on both my own LJ and the journals of friends. I'm usually sort of a bitch, but sometimes my empathy kicks in and plays merry-cob with my whole self.

20. How often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals?: If I have something to say, I'll comment. But sometimes I don't just because I don't have anything interesting to say, or I'm afraid I'll make things worse...you know what I mean?

21. Do you prefer to write in your Journal, read other Journals, respond to others entries, or get responses to your entries?: YES! :D Although there is something really happy-making about getting responses to entries and fics I post... *pokes fingers together* 'Cause I'm a whore like that...

22. What's the longest you've gone without posting to LJ since the day you signed up?: Oh geez, when I first started I would go a month or more without updating.

23. What's the longest you've gone without reading LJ since you discovered it?: Hmm...the week I was in Europe?

24. What is your favorite post you've ever made to LJ?: The word "PORN" in big honkin' bold letters. Either that or the post I made to the Detective Conan community about how movie!canon proved that Kaitou Kid was stealing Ran's clothes.

25. What is your favorite post you've ever read on LJ?: I think the ones that went up around the time of the Moon Ghost case in Detective Conan, otherwise known as the Fandom Squee Heard 'Round the World. Those were EPIC.

26. What's the weirdest or funniest thing you've seen on LJ?: Oh lord, I have too many crazy friends to just pick one XD

27. Have you ever specifically asked a question for people to reply to in your Journal?: Yup!

28. Have you ever tried to play the "trace yourself back through friends from a random LJ user"?: Uhh...no, I don't think I've ever tried that one? :S

29. Have you ever played the "add a sentence to my post" game?: Never heard of it.

30. Have you ever lied/fibbed in your journal?: Little white ones of the "pretending to be fine when I'm falling apart" variety. That's about it. Don't know if that counts, really. I think almost everyone does that.

31. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on LJ (or did it to someone else)?: Not very often, but it has happened. My favorite was being told by a complete stranger that my parents didn't spank me enough as a child.

Have you ever banned someone from your Journal?: One person--another LJ user and I had stomped this troll during the Strikethrough fiasco in an argument over people's automatic payments being turned back on without them knowing it. I banned the commentings because they seemed like the type who might try to make trouble.

33. Has LiveJournal had any significant impact on your life?: Yes. It has. Some for the better...and some not so much. Would really prefer not to go into details.

34. Who are your favorite LJ friend(s)?: ...you're joking, right? There are some that I'm closer to than others, but I don't have a favorite!

35. How many of your LJ friends are your friends in "real life"?: Not going to count, but I've met several. The one I've known the longest is kaitodoushi, with whom I have been friends since kindergarten. I am now twenty-two.

36. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met?: A few.

37. Have you ever e-mailed or I.M.'d someone you found on LJ?: Absolutely! Though I'm actually sort of shy about initiating contact. I have this irrational fear/paranoia about coming off as a stalker or something XD

38. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?: Oh geez...umm, I have a lot in common with jeva_chan in terms of personality...and other people as well...I hate these questions.

39. Who is the most intelligent or insightful person you know on LJ?: Again you ask the impossible.

40. Who is the most fun person you know on LJ?: *points to previous answer*

41. Who is your least favorite/most annoying LJ user or community?: *points to previous answer*

42. How do you usually find new friends on LJ?: I think I've met some people over here via ff-dot-net. Otherwise, I think I usually meet people via the communities I join. Met a LOT of my friends on here through various fandom things.

43. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?: If we talk and get along and they seem fun and cool and we have some interests in common...or on Lurker Day 8D

44. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?: I do on candyfics, but over here...I used to automatically friend back, but I don't anymore.

45. Do you care if someone adds you to his or her friends list if you add him or her first?: Nah, not really.

Would you remove them from yours if they didn't?: Nope. If they're interesting, I'll keep them on.

46. Are there any people's journals (users / friends), communities, interests, or searches you frequent on LiveJournal that you don't or will not list in your user info page?: A couple, usually just in passing.

47. Is your "Significant Other" on LJ?: I lack a significant other to begin with. Thank you so much for reminding me why I have to buy my own damn chocolate on Valentine's Day >P

57. Do you use HTML to add extras to your entries?: Yup! My knowledge of html is limited, but I HAAAATE the RichText thing.

58. Is your LJ page customized (at all - even from template or default)?: The comment texts and things are. And candyfics is a completely custom layout, made by the lovely illeistic. Who I might own prons to.

59. Do you usually use the WinAmp music detector, add your music manually, or none at all?: Manually...?

60. How well do you know the LJ features and how to use it?: I learned how to use the features I use. If I need to do something else, I'll learn that feature too ^__^

61. What is your favorite LJ feature?: Userpics! I also enjoy polls now and then, and the occasional voice post when necessary.

62. What is your least favorite LJ feature (one that you would change or delete if you could)?: The v-gift thing is ridiculous. I think it's sort of money-grubbing, to be honest.

63. What feature would you most like to see added to LJ?: USERPICS. DO WANT MOAR NAO PLEEZ.
