candyland: (hypocrisy)

[livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and I had another Phoenix Wright party this afternoon.

We played for almost five and a half hours...and we're still not through with the second case of the game. Part of that is because we had to stop here and there for a few minutes to make the pizzas for lunch or refill our beverages and other such things...and the other part of it is because we're reading the dialogue out loud (there's a reason I'm not a voice actress, put it that way--although my Winston Payne and Dahlia Hawthorne voices were pretty damn good, if I do say so myself). It takes a lot longer to read it like that, but it's the only way we can stay together.

...and some of the dialogue is just too priceless to not read aloud, as well as giving us plenty of opportunity to make fun jokes. I can't remember some of them, but our two best:

GAME: *plays Godot's theme music*
US: *stare at each other* ...is it just me, or does that sound like it belongs in a porno?

PHOENIX: Pearl and her fairy tale image of love...
KAT: Where men like women...

We're dorks and slightly on the perverted side of Sears...BUT WE'RE FUN, AMIRITE? As soon as I post this entry, we actually just decided to have an impromptu Perkins run to play more of the game *laugh* NERDERY FOR THE WIN!

I have done zero writing for the last two days, and it's been something of a relief, to be honest. I'm hugely far ahead, so it's not like I'm going to be in big honkin' trouble or anything for missing a couple of days. Still need to get that one chapter outlined so I can write it and barrel on through to the end of the story.

And I am currently poking around at new series. On the advice of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] aishuu, I am torrenting the first season of Kyou Kara Maou (aka the series whose name I can never type without looking it up), and am going to give that a go and see what happens. I also spent about an hour this evening reading a manga called Uzumaki. It was good and interesting and surprisingly creepy. Still not sure what I think of the ending, though... XD

All right, time to change and go do fun stuff. Bye!

Can we have a clip of Godot's theme music? I must hear it.

Regarding Kyou (which I can never type either without looking up), I've caught the first couple of episodes and its highly amusing. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it but I think you'll enjoy it. Something tells me you will get a kick out of it. And I bet it will spawn plunnies! At least you can get another fic for 100fandomhell out of it.

LOL, I couldn't spell the name of that series forever, too. XD; And I still prefer not to. What a typing twister! **had to finally get it right when someone claimed something from it on [livejournal.com profile] 30_hugs.**

I haven't written too much in a while, either, though for me it's stressful. XD Because plunnies are everywhere and I can't make them come out right now.

I absolutely love Uzumaki. Oh, Junji Ito, you and your...weird idea for horror antagonists (seriously, spiral shapes?)

Godot's theme makes me crack up whenever I hear it. When it plays during what's meant to be emotional moments, it just winds up making me envisioning EVERYONE IN THE COURTROOM UNZIPPING THEIR PANTS COLLECTIVELY and hfgjhgsd

I couldn't take Uzumaki seriously after they started turning into snails. :( Gyo, by the same author, wasn't any better, but one of the short mangas at the end did scare me enough to never read the ending.

How far did you get in Soul Eater, by the way? |D Just wondering.

But that actually turned into something rather grotesque near the end, when they were all so desperate for food *shudders* Overall, I was impressed by the creativity of it all. I just can't decide if I liked the very ending or not. *plots to give Gyo a look, just in case*

Err...not very far ^^;;

I know. It's insane, but it friggin' worked! And was insanely creepy *shudders* The chapters about the mosquitos and the pregnant women in the hospital? Oh my GOD *hides*

*SNEEEEEERK* I agree, it is supposed to be all nice and emotional and stuff, but...it's porno music. As to everyone collectively undoing their pants...well, it is the Ace Attorney universe-- *SHOT*

I have the torrent going, so as long as that's running I can just look at it there *laugh* I know the first word is Kyou, and that's about it :)

I've got two months to write about 42,500-ish words. It's not like there's any genuine hurry or anything for me. But it'd be nice to actually finish a project *sigh*

Ye have but to ask, and Court Records will provide. (http://www.court-records.net/sounds/GodotTheme3.mid) And for more fun, listening to the extensive Library o' Objections! (http://www.court-records.net/audio.htm#Sound%20Clips)

Thanks for the input~ I hope I do get into it. Nothing's really been catching my attention lately D: Yes, there is that too... *waggles eyebrows*

It sounds like high class pr0n. XD I have this image of him sauntering into the room wearing a silk bathrobe and carrying a glass of wine.

You're welcome. I haven't seen too much but its amusing. Not much plot but who says you need plot to enjoy something? I have been informed that plot appears towards the end of the first season, so you don't have to despair.

I liked the ending, but auuughhh the author always likes to write really sad endings. :| And Gyo's pretty short, so it should be okay~ I.. couldn't take that seriously after just a few chapters too, though. And imo it's less scary than Uzumaki, just the short story at the end that scared me.

You should pick it up again when you get the chance. 8D! It's getting pretty good right now.

No, no--this is Godot, who has stated that he will drink no more than seventeen cups of coffee during a given day in court. He would saunter in wearing a silk bathroom and carrying a coffee mug! :D

...I like plot ;o; It makes me all warm and happy inside.

I admit that I sometimes enjoy a nice sad ending, but that whole storyline was all about how they're fighting and struggling and staying alive and then...FLAT ON THEIR FACE. And I just sat there and thought, "Wait...what the crap?" But I will give it a look sometime :)

I'll try. Sometimes I have trouble reading manga on the computer versus holding it in my hands, ya know?

I stand corrected. Here's you coffee drinking guy times six.

Well, it does have a lot of unanswered questions and two guys getting engaged. Does that interest you?

Here's the link to that day at A-kon and the Phoenix Wright photoshoot. I really wish I could've stood back further to take the picture but everyone was crowding in.

Glad to hear. ^_________________^
