candyland: (hypocrisy)

[livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and I had another Phoenix Wright party this afternoon.

We played for almost five and a half hours...and we're still not through with the second case of the game. Part of that is because we had to stop here and there for a few minutes to make the pizzas for lunch or refill our beverages and other such things...and the other part of it is because we're reading the dialogue out loud (there's a reason I'm not a voice actress, put it that way--although my Winston Payne and Dahlia Hawthorne voices were pretty damn good, if I do say so myself). It takes a lot longer to read it like that, but it's the only way we can stay together.

...and some of the dialogue is just too priceless to not read aloud, as well as giving us plenty of opportunity to make fun jokes. I can't remember some of them, but our two best:

GAME: *plays Godot's theme music*
US: *stare at each other* ...is it just me, or does that sound like it belongs in a porno?

PHOENIX: Pearl and her fairy tale image of love...
KAT: Where men like women...

We're dorks and slightly on the perverted side of Sears...BUT WE'RE FUN, AMIRITE? As soon as I post this entry, we actually just decided to have an impromptu Perkins run to play more of the game *laugh* NERDERY FOR THE WIN!

I have done zero writing for the last two days, and it's been something of a relief, to be honest. I'm hugely far ahead, so it's not like I'm going to be in big honkin' trouble or anything for missing a couple of days. Still need to get that one chapter outlined so I can write it and barrel on through to the end of the story.

And I am currently poking around at new series. On the advice of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] aishuu, I am torrenting the first season of Kyou Kara Maou (aka the series whose name I can never type without looking it up), and am going to give that a go and see what happens. I also spent about an hour this evening reading a manga called Uzumaki. It was good and interesting and surprisingly creepy. Still not sure what I think of the ending, though... XD

All right, time to change and go do fun stuff. Bye!

But that actually turned into something rather grotesque near the end, when they were all so desperate for food *shudders* Overall, I was impressed by the creativity of it all. I just can't decide if I liked the very ending or not. *plots to give Gyo a look, just in case*

Err...not very far ^^;;

I liked the ending, but auuughhh the author always likes to write really sad endings. :| And Gyo's pretty short, so it should be okay~ I.. couldn't take that seriously after just a few chapters too, though. And imo it's less scary than Uzumaki, just the short story at the end that scared me.

You should pick it up again when you get the chance. 8D! It's getting pretty good right now.

I admit that I sometimes enjoy a nice sad ending, but that whole storyline was all about how they're fighting and struggling and staying alive and then...FLAT ON THEIR FACE. And I just sat there and thought, "Wait...what the crap?" But I will give it a look sometime :)

I'll try. Sometimes I have trouble reading manga on the computer versus holding it in my hands, ya know?
