Today I cleaned~ *GASP SHOCK AMAZEMENT*
Aug. 19th, 2008 02:44 amI was asleep. And then suddenly at two AM, I woke up again. I dunno x_x
Today was actually very productive. Mom and Dad moved my darling sister Bug into her dorm room yesterday. Which means that the basement is now MINE. And the very first thing I set out to do was vanquish the bathroom. See, Bug has this habit of mistakenly believing that if there is any surface area whatsoever in that bathroom, it belongs to her and solely her, and no one else could ever possibly need it for anything, and when we (myself or the parents) ask/tell her to clean her stuff out of there, it is either a mere suggestion, or we are joking.
So today I got to clear all of her stuff out of there, throwing out a bunch of it (with Mom's blessings and assistance!), and scrubbing the place down. There was one shampoo bottle on the edge of the bathtub that was not only empty of shampoo...but had been half-filled with water and left there. What the crap? Sadly, this is not exactly an uncommon thing with my sister.
And then after the superfluous stuff had been removed, I scrubbed it clean. Counter, toilet, tub/shower, floor, mirror--all are now shiny and crap-free. It didn't take as long as you might think (not exactly a ginormous bathroom), but the floor took a while. And then I switched out the stuff in there for the stuff that I'd had in my apartment. So now my bathroom is all blue and dolphin-y! YAY! \o/
...and I just know that the minute she comes home for anything, all that hard work will be completely undone and I will have to actively remove things from the vanity in order to have a place to plug in my bleepin' flat-iron.
Yesterday, with some help from the massively awesome
lwyn, I pulled a 10K day for
summerwrite. My word count for the challenge is now 140,140. She helped by timing me on twenty minute sprints, where I just wrote as fast as I could. The rest was going from 129,370-something to over 140K.
I also finished several stories for
fanfic100, leaving me with one to finish the last few paragraphs of, and two more themes to write for :DD This makes me a happy Candy ^_____^ There should be fairly regular updates for the next few days, and I daresay that the last one will go up on September 2nd as planned~ Exactly two years to knock this challenge out of the park!
I MISS
kaitodoushi!! TT^TT She's in Dallas until the twenty-fourth. COME BACK SAFE AND SOON, LOVE. THEN WE DO FUN STUFF. AND YOU CAN SEE THE SHINY THAT IS MY CLEAN BATHROOM BECAUSE I AM INSANELY PROUD OF THAT.
Bah. Work at eight tomorrow...should go back to bed.
ETA: There still hasn't been a post announcing the winners of the fic and art contests over on
kyodoroki. This makes me go sadface ;o; I'm not really expecting to win (because all the other entries were frakkin' AWESOME), and I know there's a lot to judge, but...I grow impatient XD I JUST WANT OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT THAT I DO NOT GET THE SHINY PRIZE PACKAGE AND SHOULD GO BACK TO MY SAD DOUJIN-LESS LIFE XDD
