So...this particularly goes out to [livejournal.com profile] magicbulletgirl and [livejournal.com profile] magic_truth, who have been trying to talk me into watching Doctor Who. This has been an ongoing thing, and I've been resisting for a couple of reasons (including HOLY CRAP THAT'S A LOT OF EPISODES TO WATCH). Well, [livejournal.com profile] chibi_murasala just posted some links to some episode summaries. And I've been reading. And...I might be interested. HATE YOU ALL NOW ^^;; Though I'm still not sure about those damn angel statues >_>

Actually, [livejournal.com profile] chibi_murasala posted some spooky stories last night in honor of Halloween. A couple of them actually sort of freaked me out, for as most of you know, the Candy is a coward second to none. But one of them gave me a plunnie. Eh, what can you do? Aside from sleep with the lights on, I mean. The ones about the mirrors were the worst because--CONFESSION TIEMZ--I have a touch of fear where mirrors are concerned. Or rather, reflections. And what you see in them. I blame Signs for making it a full-blown fear instead of just nervousness. That scene with the TV? Yeah.

I woke up early today, and I am not happy for it. Rawr, I say~

I have tomorrow off work (yays!), and plans to fill that day off. I'm running some errands, both for myself and my mother. I went downtown on Monday with the intention of renewing my driver's license. Guess what the only day of the week that the place isn't open is XD So I'm doing that tomorrow, and I told Mom I'd go to the store and pick up some stuff on sale for her (as well as a cake--work sends me a coupon for a free cake :D), and then [livejournal.com profile] bishonen_girl and I are going to do lunch. And I have some ficcage to post.

...does twenty-three qualify as mid-twenties yet? Or is that not until twenty-four?

Last thing before I end this entry and go curl back up in bed until I have to go to work: I'm currently saving my pennies to ensure that I can afford Christmas gifts for my family. It's doubtful that I'll be able to afford gifts for anyone else. S-sorry... T_T

But anyway, I want to get my sister a Nintendo DS, as she has mentioned wanting one. So my dilemma is whether to get her a new system by itself, or to get her a used system and a game or two with it. I'm leaning towards the second option because it feels like a more complete gift. Not sure yet. Any thoughts?

Oh, you have the mirrors thing too, huh? Myself as well. A tip: don't ever, ever watch Poltergeist I, 'cause despite it's massive cheesiness it has a mirror-scene that'll keep you ducking every time you go into the bathroom, I seriously mean it. NNNGH. Not Good, No, Not Good At All.

*snickers* either way, I'm already there :P As the mother figure says, 'I'm not old enough to have a 25-year-old son'

Happy early B-day Candy-chan ^_^, if'n you'd like, you'n think of the D&D hammer arti as my present.

As for the 'mas gift, I don't know how the life expectancy of the DS is, but I would get it new and coordinate with the 'rents about getting her games (you give the system and they give her a game or two for it, multi-gifts-in-one that way.)

Ouuuh Doctor Who!

Exterminate! Exterminate! Exter- oh wait, I don't have a Dalek icon. Snap.

As for sister's gift: my sis' is getting a new DS Lite with a Guitar Hero on Tour game and the accessories pack for Christmas. 115£ the lot but the game was thrown in free. So I recommend looking at what kind of packages come with the new systems these days (especially with the run up to Christmas) and see what's affordable. Try different stores too. Sometimes you can find good deals in surprising places.

*Huggles*.

Enjoy the Who~~~!

...and I miss Hy-Vee cakes!!!! *sigh*

I think the best bet would to get her a used DS and a couple of games. Really, what good is a new DS if you don't have any games to play on it? I know Amazon was doing a sale on DS Lites where the new one was $119 instead of $129 a few days ago. If you were going to go the new DS route. Depends on if your sis doesn't mind having a used system or not. Otherwise I agree with coordinating with your parents getting her games or looking for package deals.

PS: I totally love my new DS that I got for my birthday. *stares longingly at purse, wanting to play more Mario Party DS...stupid work*

VICTORY!!!

*ahem*...Anyway, no, I do NOT think 23 is mid-twenties. And I will viciously battle against those who do. I am young, dammit! I am still young!

I am telling you "Blink" is one of the best Dr. Who episodes ever. You love ghosthunters! Trust me you'll love that episode.
