Okay, it's official. The best thing in the world is my mother playing video games.

She and I have slowly been working our way through Cooking Mama on the Wii. I picked it up because it's not a terribly complicated game, so I though Mom would be able to enjoy it. Well...we do certainly enjoy it, but she's not very good at it *laugh* I'm only marginally better.

Tonight's adventure. GUITAR HERO.

My sister is home for the weekend (since she has a doctor's appointment tomorrow), so the three of us played because my father is a real stick-in-the-mud about joining us for these things. Oh god, it's been a long time since I laughed that hard. Mom is HORRIBLE! Oh, she got a lot better as the evening went on, but for a while Bug and I were actually counting the notes out loud for her XD She's improving, though! Yay Mommy!

Turns out I'm the only one with any actual skill at this game in my family :D Oh god. Bug took the controller after Mom was done with a song and said, "Now let the pro show you how it's done." And Mom replied, "But it's not [Candy]'s turn yet!" God, I was laughing so hard I couldn't even BREATHE. That was an awesome few hours ^______^


In other news, kaitodoushi is pretty much the most amazing person on the planet. Because she is so awesome, my parents are going to Spamalot with us on December third. Oh, and Kat? Rach? Mom asked if we had pre-show plans, and said that going out to dinner sounds kind of awesome. So we need to figure out what we want to do soon :D :D :D


And now I am going to plot out some NaNo stuff. I was intending to do a bunch of writing tonight, but I was kidnapped for gamings, and so now...ehhhh...I have to have a massive writing day tomorrow XDD So time to get stuff thought of! *grabs Neo and puts on Evil Plotting Hat*

I know what you mean about your mom playing video games. It is fun to watch my dad play Halo 3 with my little brother. ^_^ In fact, it is downright hilarious.

Mom is getting better, I will say. Every time we play something, she gets a little better at controlling the thing. Bug and I want to get her going on Legend of Zelda :D Sis was playing that on the GameCube last night before we started Guitar Hero :)

That sounds exactly like my mom playing Guitar Hero XD. We almost always start beating it out for her. Someday she will make it through Hit Me With Your Best Shot on Easy, I know it =/

You should have seen it! We're playing on Easy, since neither Bug nor Mom is very good at it. Well, one of the songs is "You Really Got Me," and both Mom and Bug tried it. Neither of them could do it. When I got up, Mom pretty much ordered me to do that song.

Yeah. 98% accuracy~ *victory dance*

To Mom's credit, she's getting better every time we play. Bug and I want to get her going on Legend of Zelda ^_~

We're still trying to get Dad to come down and join us (we play in the basement). The one time he did come down and watch us play Cooking Mama, he was laughing along with Mom and I. We're thinking about getting Mario Kart for the Wii for Christmas to try and get him to come down and play with us.

I'm the gamer of the family, really, but my sister does enjoy them when she has time to play :D She played through the first two dungeons of the original Legend of Zelda last night :D

I'm the only one in my family who plays vg's.. I can't even convince my sis or father-figure to attempt playing with me :(

I know! And Bug rolled her eyes~ But god, we laughed so hard. Mostly because I'm the only one who can actually play the game at any skill level *laugh*

I'm the gamer of the family. My sister enjoys them when she has time to play, and Mom is getting more into them with games like Wii Sports, Cooking Mama, and Guitar Hero. We're still working on Dad, but we're thinking about getting him Mario Kart for Christmas to try and get him to come play with us ^__^

Ahhh! Sounds like you're having alot of fun Candy! xD Guitar Hero sounds like such an amazing game. TuT I haven't tried it before but everyone is always raving about it.

:O It's a really fun game, and it's the kind of thing you can pull out with a group of friends (or your family) and everyone has fun, whether it's your turn or not! If you get a chance to play it, I highly recommend giving it a try :D

We're still working on my dad. He's resisting. But we're thinking Mario Kart might be the thing to convert him ^_~ Time will tell.

I are addicted to Pokemon Pearl... I miss the days of hanging out in college and playing Mario Party. :( Most of the games we have are one player games. Although we have had a lot of fun playing Mario Kart Wii... I alway lose to Dillon though. I'm hoping to either get the latest Guitar Hero or Rock Band and then I shall be the winner!!! *evil laugh*

Yay for Spamalot! It's going to be in Spokane in May, but I don't know if we'll be able to afford tickets. :( *sigh*

I've been playing Diamond a lot lately. And yeah, when Mom asked me about getting Mario Kart for Dad, I actually mentioned those days hanging out and using Sage's butt for a pillow playing it on the GameCube. We're thinking Dad would really like it for the Wii. GOOD LUCK, LOVE! YOU CAN DUU EET! :D

I'm happy that my parents are going to get to see it! Dad's a die-hard Holy Grail fan, and Mom's...well, not quite so much, but she liked The Producers better as a musical, so I think she'll have a good time.
