Bad news...
Nov. 24th, 2008 08:52 pmAm taking a break from my frantic NaNo-ing to make this post.
Bug is back at school. She forgot her teddy bear, Holly. I am now on bear-sitting duty until Wednesday night, when Bug comes home. Holly is currently sitting on my bed against my pillows, tucked in with my fleece blanket. It's sort of cute~
I also got bitten by the cleaning bug for about an hour and a half tonight. Got through a bunch of stuff, and am rather pleased with myself for it. Still got quite a ways to go, though. But oh well, journey of a thousand miles, single step, etc. I will add that trying to dry a freshly-washed comforter in a dryer is akin to nailing Jell-O to a tree.
...well, the real reason I'm making this post is primarily to address those I knew in high school. Do you guys remember Cathy P.? She stood next to me in choir our senior year, was in Headliners with us, dated and eventually married Patrick?
She was diagnosed with stage III esophageal cancer.
It sounds like she's already had surgery, and she's recovering before she goes up to the Mayo Clinic to start doing chemo and radiation treatments. They're doing some fundraisers and things to try and help out a bit. I didn't know her really well, but we had a lot of conversations during choir since we sat next to each other, and she was a nice girl.
Thought I'd let you guys know.
ETA: Mom just asked me to sign us up for the soup and salad benefit dinner on December 18th. Asked Bug, and she said she wants to go. We're going to contribute! \o/
