Once again, we got spanked with the Bad Weather Paddle (you can all thank me for that mental image later). Freezing rain for a while this morning, followed by snow. Driving home from work was fun, let me tell you~ We won't talk about work because it has become the soul-sucking sinkhole in the center of my life.

So let's talk of happier things. Like the bathroom!

MY BATHROOM IS PRETTY! :D I came home from work and stuck my head in figuring I'd see how far along they've gotten, and I seriously started jumping up and down. I HAVE TILE ON THE FLOOR. A VANITY. A SINK! ...still no toilet, but it sounds like they're going to finish up my bathroom tomorrow, so yay for that! There'll be a before and after pic when it's all done. YAY TOILETS!

Especially because tomorrow I'm having company. [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and [livejournal.com profile] bishonen_girl and I are doing movies since none of us have to work. We are going to finish getting BG through Ghost Stories if it kills all three of us. And we're also watching the rabbit episode again. Because Kat and I both sort of say so ^_~ *snickers* "Shirotabi...I brought you back to life. Back from the dead...thought you'd be a LITTLE more grateful!"

...okay, and now a question for all the writers on my f-list. Have any of you ever had the problem where you've got ideas crystal clear in your mind--maybe you've even written part of the story in your head already. It's all there, you know how it's going to go, you sit down...and you can't get a damn word to appear on the screen in front of you. How do you get past it? Because that's been happening with almost everything I've tried to write for the last few days. Even stuff that's outlined T_T

Oh oh--I might have a Conan plunnie~ *picks cliche up by the collar* Let's see what I can do with you, if the aforementioned problem decides to go away and I can make words be doing the writing appear-o thing!

Well, I just write the idea out. That means I don't try writing the story. I figure the idea will come back later and will be much easier to write.
Or I write it, forcing out each and every word until I get tired or it becomes easier. It just depends.
And another technique I like is to write sentances or scenes that come to mind. The NaNo technique. Word padding! I find it helps at least get rid of the frustration.
Or you could just take a break for a few days. That's always nice.

Um, what do I do? I.... stare at the screen until something happens. No, really. Sometimes it takes a while. Sometimes I get up and come back. Sometimes I type one word, and delete it. Ditto that for a sentence or a paragraph. Generally after I figure out the right place to begin, the rest falls into place.

Good luck~~~ <3

Hmm... being stuck is always tough. Sometimes you just have to wait for inspiration to kick in. Like, listening to the right music, or reading the right book. Sometimes, I read other fics of the same tone that I want to capture for inspiration.

My little sister actually went through a time when she had all these ideas swimming in her head (mostly stories about Ai and Black Org., strange enough) but she just couldn't write! It lasted about 5 months before she managed to jot something down.

Personally, I do what [livejournal.com profile] ytak suggested. Just write. Don't self-edit just yet. Shove it out, and edit the crap out later... especially since you're in a period of unease, right?

Yay!! Pretty Bathroom!! That's awesome ^_^

And I has no idea on the writing thing... I always have that issue it seems and I'm always like gwahhh... usually the longer I dwell the less likely it is to ever get written ^^;;

But yay on Conan plunnie!! *dances*

(sometimes it helps to write something... anything at all just what runs and try to get something out and other things follow ^^;;))

Oh, I'm having that problem more than a year now...And it makes me want to gnaw on something. I tell myself it's not good to force anything but sometimes that's the only way - sometimes when I force myself to sit down and write something, ideas gradually come and I manage to write a new chapter or a story... *shrugs*

Yay for shiny bathrooms!

I just write. No matter the mood you gotta write or you lose it. You can't expect it to be perfect the first time you write it.

*Casts glances at the pages of ideas for stories he has ideas for* You could say that. I've tried writing some stuff, started two multi-chapter fics but I can't get past the block between my head and my hands.

My muse tends to like writing stuff out by hand (her mental room has a computer, but she likes to write on a typewriter, which translates out to me by writing by hand) so I'm hoping with the new semester I'll be able to get things written, but last semester wasn't very good for writing either, so I don't know.

You might try different forms of writing, grab a utensil, a pad of paper and something to write on and plop down comfortably in bed, or on the family room couch.

Sometimes what the muses need is a change in venue, a change in method, etc. And sometimes you just need to take a break and rest the writing muscles.

Other news, happy new bathroom lol ^_^ is it just me, or does that sound just a little odd?

:3 Oooh I love before and after pics. I can't wait to see your bathroom.

Hmm. Well I look at my collection of prompts and if that doesn't work then I skip that scene and go on the next with the intention of filling the part I was stuck on later.

(pats)
You're not alone...
And how do I get past it?
A)Well, I'm keeping the little plunnies in the corner of my mind, and makes a little pause with writing. Hey, you wouldn't lose your skills if you stop to write for few days/weeks/months... And sometimes, everything problem is gone when you're writing again.
Instead of writing, read a good book/watch a movie(food for inspiration), or makes something which isn't related to writing...

B) I'm keeping the little pluny in the corner of my mind, and instead of being frustrated, I chose to work with a plunny which is friendly with inspiration.
Hey, sometimes I couldn't write a damn word for a particular story, but could write two chapters in few hours with another one.
(One of the few advantage to be filled with WIP, when it doesn't work with one of them, pick another one...)XD;

C) Forcing myself to write. Even if it's painfull, even if it's silly, even if you know that the final result wouldn't be worth of publishing, write... Sooner or later, the mood would be back, or you would find a little detail which would help your inspiration...
(Sometimes, it's happening, I couldn't write, I'm writing and erasing the stuff I've written again, and again and again...and then, I'm finding a little idea, I'm loving it, I'm putting every bit of mental strenght inside it, and the story is building itself around this idea... Don't know if it's clear, but well...)

C-2) Write craps/mediocre chapters.story not suited to your inner idea... Hey, it's better to have a flawed story that a perfect but not written story, and sooner or later, the writer's block would eb erased by the activity of writing, and in the best case, you would be allowed to edit the whole stuff and erase the useless part that you ddin't liked when you've written them.

"Bring me back from the dead!" he says! "I'll be good, I promise!" he says! "I'm not gonna turn into a big, scary, red-eyed monster and kill everyone!" ... HE SAYS!!!

And also, we both seem to be having motivation problems. I think it's Iowa =/. And work.
