All in all, a productive day off!
Jan. 14th, 2009 09:05 pmFour twenty-minute jaunts on the treadmill this morning, whoo! Also, on a totally related note, I am now approximately a fourth of the way through Escaflowne =P The poll from last night was great fun, and I really enjoyed everyone's thoughts. So having gone six episodes into Escaflowne, here are my thoughts on the anime...
I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA WHAT I THINK OF IT.
Now, now, let me explain, put down those pitchforks. I like the characters well enough (although I wish Merle's vocabulary would expand just a bit beyond "Van-sama"), and I care enough about them to want to know what's going to happen in the end. The music is AMAZING. As to the story...it's sort of weird. Something will happen that makes my interest go PING (see also: Escaflowne turning into a dragon), but then the other half the time it's like, "Am I done with this episode yet?"
I don't know. We shall see what happens!
Tomorrow I get to work, oh goody goody. Fortunately, I don't think the co-worker who drives me nuts is going to be there, since she doesn't usually work on Thursdays. This is the saving grace.
Seriously, I am not sure how much longer I can stand this woman. She's an IDIOT. Someone calls on Monday to place a pizza order for Wednesday, and she tells them that they should call on Thursday because I make good pizza. She then apparently told them that I can make ten pizzas in ten minutes, which is impossible and I hope to all that is holy that this person did not believe that.
AND SHE DIDN'T TAKE THE FRIKKING ORDER. She's got the person on the phone, and she doesn't take the order. And looked all surprised when I asked her why she didn't, and mumbled something about not knowing how. News flash: it's the same as a Chinese order. You write down what the customer wants. Not rocket science.
Because if she had taken the order down, I could have had the pizzas made yesterday, when it was so slow at work. And it would have been a lot less strain on me. So I have no idea what this order is, so I have NOTHING prepared for it. And she doesn't mention the phone conversation to me until about half an hour before my shift ends, so there's no time to get anything ready.
I sort of hope they don't call. That would be fine by me. Really...I agreed to give this woman a ride to a store about a block and a half away, since it was so cold and snowy outside. We're talking about two minutes in the car. I did not get a SINGLE word in for those entire two minutes. She just kept TALKING. And she has this habit of repeating the exact same (unfunny) thing eight or nine times, and expecting me to laugh every single time.
This is also the woman who actually tried to start an argument with me about which of us said good morning first. I wish I was kidding. It's the first thing I say when I walk in the door every morning, and she's practically beating me over the head (verbally) gloating that she said it before I did.
...yeah. I'm done now.
So then after work I think I'm going to run to the library. There's a couple of books that I'd like to pick up, so I'm going to go do that before I go home. I checked on the library site, and it looks like they're all in, so I can get them. Yay, reading!
And finally, a meme swiped from
