There are some exceptions, like Slayers, but for the most part, Manga.

Date: 2009-03-22 04:02 pm (UTC)Although the anime is very good, there seems to be a lot more development in the manga, imo; the anime, despite it having kept close at first, has swurved off into some odd plot that doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me. The anime does, truthfully, have better art.
The manga, however, has the characters drawn in a more prominent way, there's more focus on character development and the chapters are well cut up.
