CELEBRATION TIEMZ NAO!
Apr. 14th, 2009 04:23 pm...I got the job.
At the end of March, a sign was posted on the bulletin board about a new position opening up in our store: Chinese/Italian manager. Full time position with benefits. Wanting something a bit better than what I'm doing now (and since it's in my department and I'm very familiar with the inner workings), I applied.
A couple days later, the personnel manager mentions that there's another position available as a pharmacy technician. And as she was describing it, I thought, "That sounds kind of interesting." Well, later that day, the store's general manager (henceforth known as Boss-Man) came down to actually talk to me about it. And we set up the interview for today at three.
He also told me to keep it under my hat, which proved to be a bit of a challenge XD
The interview turned out to be sort of for both positions, the management position and the pharm tech. About halfway through, he called up the pharmacy manager. We talked for a while, I answered and asked questions...and then Boss-Man basically told me that I had the job before I even walked into his office. The interview was a formality and a confirmation for the Pharm Manager that I could do the job.
I could be starting as early as next week. It'll be some nights and weekends (Pharm. Manager looked surprised when I said that didn't bother me), and I will be making more, though I don't know how much yet--just that my "wages will be adjusted."
There's a running joke that if I got this job, I was going to treat my parents to dinner. So I called Mom on my way across the parking lot. I said that I'd just got out of my interview, and she asked how it went. I replied, "You and Dad need to pick a place to eat." LOUD GASP! Then I called Dad, who told me to go ahead and put my feet up. My response: "Do we still have any of that margarita mix in the freezer?" He was amused.
And Chong just called me from work to congratulate me. She asked whey I didn't tell her, and I said that Boss-Man told me to keep it under my hat (that is a direct quote, for what it's worth). She said she's worried about me because I'm "sensitive," and that I'll miss her. ILU, Chong ♥
So yes. I am going to be starting work as a pharmacy technician very soon!
