Getting back on the horse, as it were!
Jun. 8th, 2009 09:52 pmWork today: I counted prescriptions, waited on customers, organized stuff, ran to another store to pick something up, and scrubbed the bathroom. I really, really wish I was kidding on that last part.
The guy who came to fix the toilet (which has been severely malfunctioning as of late) left a huge mess, and my manager asked me what it would take for me to put on some gloves and clean the walls (direct quote). I asked for a sponge. It took me forty-five minutes to get that stuff off the walls and fixtures, and then to get the floor clean to my relative satisfaction.
It was pretty fun to watch my manager come over to look and see her eyes light up.
Anyway, another coworker brought something else to my attention: the Lieutenant Governor's Challenge.
Long story short, it's a twelve-week challenge (much like Live Healthy), except the main focus is cardiovascular health. Which ultimately is tied into weight and such. And as you might have noticed, I've fallen off the bandwagon a teensy bit with the weight-loss thing, and I'm thinking that this might be the kick in the rump I need to get moving on it again.
All you have to do is sign up and start logging exercise and how many fruits/veggies you eat. It's not as hard as you'd think, either. When I had dinner tonight after work, Mom put a cup each of three different veggies into the dish. So I've already got three servings of veggies.
Anyone want to join me on this? *sparkles at all of you*

Date: 2009-06-09 03:54 am (UTC)The reason I'm not so extremely unhealthy is because I played sports my first two years of high school and quit after that. Guuh anyway I'm slowly motivating myself to stop eating so much junky food and start exercising a bit more, and you have shown me it's possible!!!

Date: 2009-06-10 03:15 pm (UTC)Snacking is my big problem, actually. I'm currently in the process of trying to revamp my diet a bit--which is sort of hard because I'm not under my own roof and not planning my own menu >_>
WE CAN BOTH MAKE IT! *pompoms*

Date: 2009-06-09 04:18 am (UTC)I'm cutting out snacks... and keeping a food log... this should be interesting to see how much crap I eat that I don't need to. I think I might give up soda too, although I really love cherry Dr Pepper...
Anywyas, the reason for my comment was that I weighed myself tonight... up 2 lbs from last week, time for me to kick myself into gear!

Date: 2009-06-10 03:19 pm (UTC)I thought about starting up another LJ account or something as a log, but A) I don't need another account to keep track of, and B) if anybody actually read it, I'd probably be sort of embarrassed XD Maybe I should just do a filter on here...
Erk. Pop is my weakness, as I adore Mountain Dew. But I agree, I need to wean myself off it. Trying to revamp my diet, too, and get more fruits and veggies back into it @_@
GOOOOOOOOOO YOU! :D
